It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

This movie is highly entertaining and family safe fun with enjoyment to b e had for all ages. I highly recommend this movie.Though many people may have many things to say about the actors, settings, and filmography of this particular film, the overall upshot should be a definitively net positive. The fact that the subject matter of the film may not be aligned to various political viewpoints in one manner or another does not negate from the fact that it is highly enjoyable and when taken from the right perspective (that which is to be having a good time)there are not many things you could be doing that would be more entertaining. Watch this movie, as it rocks.

This movie can best be described as a Hollywood-like film crossed with a mockumentary. The silly plot revolves around a satellite beacon that a crocodile in Australia swallows and which some CIA agents are trying to recover and Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter of Discovery Channel fame) unknowingly picks up.While the story is fictional, Steve's handling of certain very dangerous animals is obviously quite real; there is plenty of suspense and a few scares. Whenever not exercising his quick reflexes, he manages to educate well about these creatures. (Note: unfortunately, I don't get to see the Discovery Channel, and hence I don't get to see his show, so I have nothing to compare this with, although I suspect it's not too different from how he does it on the show.)In addition to camera behavior, the filmmakers also use the device of showing the dramatic scenes in a typical 2.35:1 aspect ratio while letterboxing the mockumentary scenes to about 16:9. While interesting, the effect is not really convincing since in many places, there is some impossibly un-documentary-like camera behavior (e.g. on the boat, then elsewhere looking at the boat with no camera), especially once the two worlds collide. Also, Steve and Terri occasionally act as if there are no cameras around, while other times Steve will speak to a documentary camera that probably wouldn't be there in real life; the other characters always seem to be oblivious to being in a documentary. It's all in good fun though. (Well, OK, handling snakes and spiders and crocodiles isn't exactly "fun", and is only for professionals like Irwin, but the rest is fun.) And of course a little educational, particularly about conservation. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone interested in wildlife, or Steve Irwin, or just looking for a fun movie.

This movie certain is strange. It is like one of Steve Irwin's usual episodes except a plot is thrown in. Sometimes you don't know whether a scene is real or whether it is fake. The message the movie provides is good though. Its message is that humans interfere with nature by leaving behind rubbish and poaching animals. Irwin has a Keynesian approach to environmentalism. He gets in and really interferes with nature but it's supposedly for the good of the animals themselves. With Irwin dead now it's disappointing for the animals if his efforts were actually beneficial. Irwin's career made him many millions of dollars and instead of doing what other multi-millionaires do like buying a sports car (he drives an old-looking Landcruiser) he put that money into buying land so that developers and poachers can't touch the animals. This practical and pragmatic approach is a fresh change to the usual all-talk-no-action that characterizes most academic environmentalists nowadays. But like I said, with Irwin gone, it's not looking good.

Children really enjoy the movie and the animals shown in it. Its a movie that will entertain children over and over on DVD format. It is ashamed that Steve Irwin was not able to make a few more films of this nature before his untimely demise. The plot of the movie was actually pretty good considering it was mostly built around the showcase of the wild animals. The movie is also entertaining for adults as well. The true value of the movie on DVD is that children will want to watch it over and over. True Crocadile Hunter fans would like the movie as well. Despite critics whining, Steve Irwin does a great job as an actor. Steve Irwin also does a great job interacting with the animals in the movie.
