Gripping story with well-crafted characters

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

FALL INTO DARKNESS is one of those dull TV movies that they seemed to constantly churn out during the 1990s. This one has the distinction of being based on a novel by author Christopher Pike, although the cover of my DVD bizarrely proclaims it to be a true story. The story is just ridiculous enough for it to possibly be true.The main cast are a group of annoying teenagers who are joined by a newcomer, THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR's Tatyana M. Ali, who spurns the advances of one of the members. When the guy later kills himself, his vengeful sister decides to bring Ali's character down by faking her own death through a convoluted plot and blaming Ali for the crime.The story is as silly as it sounds, and there are further twists (including an extra villain) which stretch the viewer's credulity even further. The film as a whole is badly directed and one sequence in which a character falls from a cliff top is laughably awful. With so many cliff-climbing sequences you'd think this would at least look good but it looks like what it is, cheap. Tatyana M. Ali is okay as the lead, as is Jonathan Brandis (from the SEAQUEST DSV show), but the rest of the cast - particularly Charlotte Ross - are very poor.

I won't even rate this trashy flick. I guess it's what teens want to see. For me it was bad writing, bad directing and very bad acting. I kept yelling at the TV when they were struggling with Tatyana Ali, as a simpering nebish, "push her off, push her off". Unfortunately they didn't I assume for then I changed channels. Next to Ali being the worst actress, the other one, Charlotte Ross, bug-eyed and all, comes in second. Fortunatley she's done in. They boys don't fare any better with third rate acting, especially the one that helps our villainess in the beginning. Don't know his name and don't care to. He has an upper lip that when he talks sneers. Is that acting or habit? Ali is just plain over the hill acting and unbelievable. Ross is outrageous to watch. I tell you her eyes bug out like a beetle. I kept switching channels and coming back once the unbelievable love scenes were over. Don't recommend this one. Waste of your time. And salaries given to the so called talent a waste of the public's cash.

Fall into Darkness is a really good movie, but its an even better book. Fall into Darkness is about how Ann Price's brother Jerry dies from shooting himself in the head. Ann believes that it is Sharon McKay's (her supposedly best friend) fault because Jerry loved Sharon, and Sharon didn't respond how Ann wanted to her to. So Ann comes up with a plan to set Sharon up for Ann's death. It's a really good movie (Chad is really cute, at least I think so), but like I said before, the books are even better (but of course, the books are usually better than the movie). I liked this movie because it's showing you what hate can do to you. In the book, there is more detail and you get to know the character's better too. Anyway, this movie is definitely worth watching.

I just finished watching this TV-movie on Lifetime but I remember that it aired on NBC in November of 1996. I must say great movie! Maybe it should have been called Fall Into Secrets And Schemes instead of Fall Into Darkness hey it doesn't matter! A great story that had plenty of twist and changes that kept me entertained for the entire time, and it's rarely that a TV-movie does that. A group of youths or college kids lead by the beautiful but crude Charlotte Ross plan a scheme to destroy Tatyana Ali after Charlotte's brother dies. We later find out in the end many surprises to who lead the group. The best part of this film is Tatyana Ali she is going to be another beauty. Oh Mamma that scene of Tatyana wearing a purple bra it proves how she's grown and matured beautifully from her days on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". Tatyana defeats her troubles in this movie and just to say this is a nice TV-movie to watch for enjoyment and see two cute and very lovely women Tatyana Ali and don't forget Charlotte Ross.
