One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Blistering performances.

This is a six-minuted animated short film by Disney that won an Academy Award earlier this year. It was made by a trio of filmmakers who already worked on previous pretty famous projects such as "Tangled", "The Simpsons", "Winnie the Pooh", Wreck-it Ralph", "Frozen" and "Bolt". The main character here is a little dog living on the street. He gets taken by a stranger and from that moment on the two are very close. One reason is that the dog always gets all kinds of fast food and unhealthy, yet so delicious food. This changes when the guy meets a woman as it seems she prefers her man to eat healthy. However, as soon as she is gone, he eats unhealthy again and do does his dog, who is really happy to get something other than vegetables. One day, they split and the dog is really really happy again as he always gets to eat what he wants. But his master is unhappy as he suffers from the breakup. So the dog selflessly finds a girlfriend for his master, even if it means he has to eat these disgusting vegetables again. However, as soon as the guy and his girlfriend get a kid, spaghetti's back on the menu, also for the dog a happy ending.I have to say, this was a good short film. Entertaining and nicely animated, even if it does not reach the emotional heights of "Paperman", Disney's previous winner in the category. So I am not sure if I would say that "Feast" is the best animated short film of 2014 for me. I am still to see a couple other short films, including the other nominees. Yet certainly worth a watch, especially for dog owners.

Feast is about a cute little puppy Winston and his love to his owner and the food they share. Cute and adorable, this is one of Disney's finest shorts. This short looks so cool and so much better than most of the recent animated features. I mean, I have seen Big Hero 6 and didn't really like it, it was too clichéd and the writing was terrible. But Feast with it's cool idea developed into a finely written plot looks way superior and awesome. People who love their pets enjoy this even more and could relate so much. Needless to say, Winston looks adorable, he is even more faithful. Winston loves his food and his owner and gets him out of sadness which reminds how much a dog would love a man! This short could make all those people who don't have pets feel that they should have one, at least it made me feel that way. The animation used in this short is so pleasant and gives an amazing viewing experience. It's not that 3D animation stuff we see in other animated movies. I want to see feature films with this kind of animation. An adorable short on the whole, deserves it's Oscar.

This is a great example of a story not told with words. There are words there, you can here characters speak in the background, but it is not important to the story. The words are for the feeling, a part of the environment that the story takes place in.It is about a period of a dog's life, and is mostly shown through meals, hence the title. It's an interesting concept, and leads to a fun, light hearted short that tells a cute story about life.I also liked how this short showed the passing of time. Piecing together what I assume to be high and low points in this period of the dogs life, you get a general sense of how things are going for both the dog and the owner. (But I do hope that in between some of these moments, the dog was fed properly!) The "cel-shaded" look made it seem a bit dated at first, but because of the pretty palette and all of the stuff that is happening, one quickly gets used to it, and follow it like "any other" beautiful animation.

This short film tells the journey of a man's romantic relationship through the eyes of a dog.Despite it being only six minutes long, "Feast" is remarkably informative. It tells how a man finds love, loses love and finds love again, all in the space of six minutes, with little dialog to convey the messages. The story unfolds by the type of food the dog eats, which is interesting angle and yet it is very convincing. The animated story is very sweet. It manages to touch your heart and fills you with love and warmth, which is pretty amazing for a film that is so short. I really enjoyed it.
