It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

If crude humor and F-bombs put you off, skip this. If these things don't, it's a fast, funny 1-1/2 hours, especially if you're a teacher or have a relative who is one. It's derivative. It doesn't break new ground. But the casting is perfect, and the performance spot-on. You probably would have not wanted to pay to see it on the big screen, but as a rental, you'll LOL.

Teacher Andy won't stand up for himself. The last day of the school year involves the seniors all playing malicious stunts on staff at the same time as the school board is rolling out large-scale sackings. Andy's wife is just about to have their second child, and Andy is expecting to participate with his daughter in her elementary school talent contest 15 minutes after his interview about whether he still has a job or not. Factor into this that the pranking leads to muscular psycho teacher Strickland getting fired, blaming it on weedy Andy, and demanding satisfaction by way of a Fist Fight at the end of the day, and you are only dipping your toes into the mountain of improbability which makes up this film. Heaven knows that I don't demand believability from a movie - ghosts, monsters, spaceships and super-heroes comprise a large proportion of my filmgoing inventory - but a film which is notionally rooted in the real world should, I suggest, have a scenario which enables you, at the very least, to suspend disbelief in respect of its least likely elements. The trouble is that there is no element of this movie, other than the birth of the baby, which isn't so much unlikely as totally unbelievable. Not one.
I might even be able to make allowances for that if it wasn't for the fact the film is completely unfunny. I don't think anyone in the cinema cracked a smile. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't comedies supposed to make you laugh? But nothing here is funny. Not the female teacher intent on having sex with students, not the half-*ssed plot to plant drugs on a teacher, not the fight itself, not the student determinedly masturbating in the toilets, not the F-bomb laden talent show song performed by the pre-teen daughter... every "gag" here is either misconceived or misfires or both.I'm not a fan of Charlie Day, but he is by far the best thing in this movie, and he isn't very good. Ice Cube as Strickland is horrible. Please do not go to see this film.

This was very enjoyable & Worth all money to watch. No real masterpiece or a great script, but a solid plot & a lot of fun. If you JUST want to enjoy a film & have a nice time, this is pretty good. certainly deserves more rating than this! After seeing the ratings I avoided this film for a long time. But after some friends suggesting it, I thought to give it a try & Bam! I'm very pleased That I did. At least deserves 6.5 ratings.
Tired of all these "critics" who act as if only Oscar nominated movies that are inspiring and touch your heart can be considered good. This was a great watch.
If you don't understand the definition of joy or doesn't like fun without reason, You're that type of serious person, Just don't watch. Giving low ratings Is a unfair move. This was a funny one & I recommend to anyone within age 12 to 30. Even others, If You're of the kind.
