Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Aspen Orson There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
mjlower-28991 Let me begin by stating that every Marvel fan should get on their knees and thank the universe that there is even a Ghost Rider movie for them to watch. That being said... I'm so tired of critics throwing movies "under the bus" when they don't get a FREE screening. It's childish and abhorrent to us adults who work for a living. This movie was great in my opinion. I'm forever thankful that we live in such times as to have believable effects in movies. All these spoiled brats who grew up on Harry Potter have no idea what is was like growing up in the 70's and 80's when all there was was "blue screen" effects. Have you seen TRON? That's what was available for me growing up....and I loved every minute of it. Now.... these days CG effects are incredible and that seems to be every reviewers problem with this film. How about not focusing on CG and watching the movie? This movie is great... it has it all. So don't be a jerk...give this movie a chance first... trust your own self and make a decision of your own... Thanks...
darkguardian-99861 I had seen this movie when it was out. I regretted my ticket and even now I have a lot of issues with this movie. My first and biggest issue is the protagonist: Nicholas Cage?!?!?! Don't judge me, I don't hate the actor and find him fun, but he doesn't fit here. Ghost Rider is a sympathetic character that is forced to a life of loneliness and Nicholas Cage isn't the best for that kind of role. Other than that, the movie is slow, visually uninteresting and worst of all has little to no action. The Ghost Rider has a weird look and whenever he appears he mostly just sits around and stares. I don't know what happened, but you have a flaming skeleton that is the Devil's soul collector and you make a boring movie with no action? What happened? To whoever reads this, please skip this one and if you want to see a more enjoyable Ghost Rider see Agents of SHIELD.
Prismark10 Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a cheap looking sequel which is mainly set in Eastern Europe. It was shot in Romania and Turkey, a lot of it looks drab and blurry. The story is Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze (Nic Cage) hunting down and then protecting a small boy and his mother as his body is due to be possessed by the devil. Blaze is helped by a character called Moreau (Idris Elba) who promises Blaze that he knows an ancient order of monks who can lift his curse. The trouble is the monk is led by tattooed Methodius (Christopher Lambert.)The effects were not that good, neither was the script and the actions scenes were lame. In some scenes the Ghost Rider stared people to death in slow motion as the other baddies got away.
disdressed12 although this is the second film in the Ghost Rider series,it's not a sequel per SE.it's a standalone film, and in that regard I found it to be very entertaining.you don't have to see the first one to know what's going on.Nic age returns of course,as the title character.he does a good job again,no surprise.the supporting players are all very good as well.on a side note,i thought the special were not as well done as in the first film, but that's just me.anyway back to the supporting cast.Violante Placido(probably most recently known from the Transporter TV series)plays the female lead/sort of romantic interest, acquits herself quite well, stealing most of the scenes she is in.Idris Elba(Star Trek Beyonnd and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarök)lends strong support here,as well.Johnny Whitworth (the TV series The 100 and the TV series Blindspot)is the comic relief and I found him very funny.Ciarán Hinds plays the main villain to good effect.Fergus Riordan plays Danny.i hope they will make a third film down the road.for me aside from the Dodgy special effects-(a minor complaint) I liked this film.for me,Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is an 8/10
