Tockinit not horrible nor great
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Stellead Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
Leofwine_draca GHOSTLINE is a character-focused indie horror drama which delves into the psycho-thriller genre on occasion. The lack of incident hurts it a bit and there's really only one horrible scene in the whole thing, but I found the quality of the acting a little better than the very lowest of the low and the whole thing is slightly slicker than the worst of the worst. That doesn't make it good, however.
chaosbaron I want to give this movie credit right out the gate for doing something not a lot of supernatural movies of this type do: They show you its a ghost right out the gate AND all of the characters approach it as such. They don't string you along needlessly, just get right to the ghost stuff which is what most people want when searching the garbage bin that is direct to stream. With that said, the acting wavers between respectable and terrible to the point that you are sure the actors just woke up and are reading from cue cards. The movie has a number of plot holes. Per example when they lure Eric to their home, how does he not remember that his family used to live here? Doesn't Tyler say he inherited the home from a family member? I get how the police excuse the first death in the home, but how the second? In the end I would give this movie a thumbs up because in its silliness it can possibly keep your attention and entertain you.
Adam Eriksson Ghostline is a scary movie about the ghost of Blanka from the Street Fighter movie who takes revenge on his killer by prank calling his own house where 2 bad actors that had nothing to do with any of this now lives. Hilarity ensues as they get scared and decide to get help by 3 even worse actors. 2 who are pretending to be ghost hunters and 1 pretending to be an asshole.I really enjoyed it. In the same way I loved The room or Troll 2...not as much but...almost. Everything is just wrong enough for it to get funny. At one point in the movie they tell a private investigator something like: "We think something evil is living in our house" "You mean like a demon?!" "...no, more like a ghost!"The delivery and writing of this line is what I expect from a "movie-movie" not an actual horror movie."I'm sorry I tried to shoot you in your sleep, I should probably leave now" "No, that's OK. I think you were possessed by the ghost of Ellen" "Spiritual possessions are common in many religions, including Christianity AND Buddhism. I learned that in Religious Studies!"At first when the ghost hunters are in the house they're not finding anything. So the man goes "Turn the camera off, we're gonna try something different!". And they proceed to do the same thing in a different room. When the killer hears the ghost in the same house this conversation happens. (btw the killer doesn't recognize his first victims house despite talking about how special his first kill was) "Is anyone else here?" "Maybe, why don't you go look around" "I think maybe I will, don't go anywhere!" Meanwhile the others are all tied to chairs...how could they? The "twist" made me giggle, but when the credits rolled and I heard the end song...man I laughed my ass off.You can't end a horror movie with a country(?) song about some dude who's coming to kill the listener... it makes it seem like the song was written and performed by the ghost telling the people in the movie he's gonna kill them.Anyway. I can't NOT recommend it. It was fun. I don't think I'll see it again. But I'll make sure my friends check it out.
jackmeat My quick rating 4,6/10. Surprisingly not a bad idea for a film. Was very similar to the movie "The Caller" but that aside, the idea of the dead reaching out and phoning home is interesting enough. I guess I just pointed out the general idea but I will elaborate. A woman is killed and calls the house of the previous boyfriend trying to talk to him but gets the new owner. She refuses to stop calling and believe that it isn't the same person. This leads to all the mystery of the calls and obviously takes a supernatural turn. Enough plot, suffice it to say, it was entertaining enough of the whys and who is stuff, just nothing that is going to surprise you. But I will warn you, the acting is awful. Not only that but the couple that is being harassed are basically stupid. Adds some humor though. Good cable flick to catch.
