Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

This movie is fun. The best part about it is it's not afraid to be an action movie. It reminded me of the old 80s early 90s action films like "Comanndo" and "The Last Boy Scout" Modern action is so serious it was nice to watch a film that knew it was an action film and not some uber serious anti-hero nonsense. The plot involves an Iraqi hit man named Guido who gets conned into taking his dying Landlady out west. Further complicating matters is the fact that he needs to transport a dead body as well. Of course the mob goes after him, and he must kill them in the most outrageous ways imaginable. This is what I enjoyed most. Yes the premise is ridiculous, but it's ridiculous in the most entertaining way and for me that is what action movies are all about!

An ex Iraqi hit men gets tricked into driving his terminal Landlady to the west coast and wait he has a body in his in trunk. A simple premise that gives way to a fun, entertaining low budget action romp. The thing I liked best about this film is that it had fun with the source material. So many modern action movies take themselves so seriously, trying to be cool with their anti-hero leads and ridiculous special effects. Guido reminded me of the classic Arnold action movies. Over the top violent, but not afraid to have fun and exploit some darkly comic moments. In addition to a great performance by lead actor Alki David the film features, fun performances from Billy Zane, and the king of 80s excess Gary Busey. Great film if you want to relax, turn off your brain and have a good time!

The thing I liked best about this movie is that it didn't take its self too seriously. It had that old-school 80s action movie vibe. This makes for some over the top scenes, but that's what low budget independent film is all about! In the film Iraqi hit man Guido must take his dying landlady and a body to California all while avoiding a deranged hit man and the law. There are plenty of violent scenes, and a sense of "black comedy" that reminded me of Robert Rodriguez's Desperado. People are killed in imaginative ways, and the violence is so outlandish it's impossible not to enjoy it!. All and all it's a good fun action film with some over the top ridiculous moments (But that's what makes it fun!)

Hit-man Alki David, in an exceptional performance as Guido, agrees to drive his dying landlady, Lupe Ontiveros, to California while delivering a dead body in the trunk of his Cadillac limo. On their trail is ruthless killer Billy Zane, and detective Armand Assante. Along the way various assassins, clued to their whereabouts by a tracking device hidden on the Caddy, are disposed of by the ever resourceful Guido. There are a couple of Albanians in Beverly Hills running a child prostitution ring, and Gary Busey appears briefly as their East Coast connection. The plot is somewhat obscured by moments of violence, such as death by power sander, and the "black comedy" which is present throughout. One inter cut scene in a cathedral is not to be missed. As the landlady is giving a confession to a priest, Guido is beating a bad guy to death in a church pew. This is low budget film making at it's best, and recommended viewing for those who seek obscure movie surprises. - MERK
