xanadu-65205 Repulsive movie trying to pass off a thuggish,backward village oaf who is trying to trap a nice,upper class girl by cunningly befriending her first - as a 'love' story . Disgusting. Madhav Jha moons after Riya Somani who is completely out of his league. He targets & successfully ensnares her by first becoming her basketball buddy while she treats him fairly & kindly as a fellow student & friend. But apparently once Madhav attained the prized friend status- that wasn't enough for him.He got ambitious. He actively wormed his way further into her life & psyche with his agenda & kept weaving his web around her, upping the ante with each step- taking her out for a movie (even if she insisted they were just hanging out), luring her to his room on the pretense of her resting - an opportunity he seizes to try to force himself on her.When she discourages him politely - Madhav changes his colours & misuses his existing relationship with her to bully her into submission to have sex with him. When that fails too- he begins to verbally & physically harrass & intimidate her.This is just the first hour of this benighted film- the rest is even worse. If this is Chetan Bhagats idea of 'love' - he requires a swift kick up his backside. Madhav's nauseous behaviour would've been better represented in the movie as the films stalker rather than as the 'hero'.

Damien_King86 I just watched this on Netflix and came here to check out more details about the film and I am extremely surprised at the low score on here. I know the story is not terribly original, but it was still a moving and enjoyable experience to watch. I particularly liked the music and the way it made you feel what the characters were experiencing even when there was no dialogue. I would recommend this to anyone to who likes romantic comedies (with drama), and especially if they don't mind reading subtitles.

sukhish-puri It doesn't get any worst than this... I mean seriously!!! First of all, i don't understand the name "half girlfriend" should have named it "yet another stupid senseless idiotic Hindi romantic movie remake number one million and one" Why do they even bother with such movies is beyond my understanding... Where there are movies like Hindi Medium & Mom which are exceptional at showing awesome cinema, this movie is still stuck in the 19th century to show hopeless romantic romeos with fairy tail endings which are anything but real life! Just don't bother watching it, instead just watch a child playing in the park and you will still feel better watching that instead of this pile of garbage.
