Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
GamerTab That was an excellent one.
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Libramedi Intense, gripping, stylish and poignant
jclingan Thought this would go more towards the old Police Squad type movies but it just stayed pretty straight. Nothing great but decent acting. I've seen a lot worse.I enjoy the main actor when he's playing off someone else like he does in Curb. Bummer that we only get 30 seconds of Kaley Cuoco.
writetopcat Just watched this Netflix Comedy "Handsome" about an overweight detective solving a murder in quirky L.A. The movie is a little bit of Hollywood making fun of itself. It's clear from the start that this isn't a mystery as the killer in the show announces to the audience that he is in fact the killer at the beginning. There is almost nothing serious in this film, which again , is clear from the outset. The detective squad is staffed with feckless, oddballs. Handsome appears to be the only one there with an ounce of common sense. His female partner is more concerned with getting laid than following leads, but she comes through when needed. It is one of those films that was over long before I wanted it to be. I hope there will be a series spinoff of this show.
Hellmant 'HANDSOME: A NETFLIX MYSTERY MOVIE': Three Stars (Out of Five)A Netflix comedy feature about an LA homicide detective, named Gene Handsome, who's great at solving crimes but still can't make sense of his own personal relationships Jeff Garlin plays the title role in the film, and he also directed and co-wrote it (with Andrea Seigel). The movie costars Natasha Lyonne, Christine Woods, Amy Sedaris and Steven Weber. It was released by Netflix through their streaming site. I found it to be mildly amusing and funny.Gene Handsome (Garlin) is a homicide detective in Los Angeles, who works with his partner, Fleur Scozzari (Lyonne), to solve crimes. The latest mystery, that the duo are trying to solve, involves the murder of a local babysitter in Gene's neighborhood. Gene is extremely smart, and clever, at solving crimes, but he's horrible with personal relationships. So as he impressively works to solve this latest gruesome murder, he still can't seem to make things work with women. The movie feels much more like a TV feature, than a theatrical film, which is not the case with a lot of Netflix original movies (they're usually theatrical quality in my opinion). It also feels like the beginnings of (the hopes for) a TV series. That's not to say it isn't entertaining though; I was amused consistently throughout it. I think Garlin is really funny, and he's definitely good in this role. So I still enjoyed watching it, but definitely more on a TV show quality level.
bighallee What has happened to film making? Do the people who make movies ever look at what they produce? They can't think that what they make is good. Maybe they think people will go for anything. Back to the drawing board for a good comedy. Jeff Garlin and I have something in common,we like the Cubs and we can't act.
