The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

On the one hand, like most reviewers who have seen this movie, I fully agree that the plot is incoherent and unsatisfactory, even worse than the first High School Musical. On the other hand, I feel a little embarrassed to admit that I like the songs in the movie, particularly Gotta Go My Own Way as sung by Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron, and Zac Efron's solo, Bet on It. In a nutshell, I think High School Musical 2 is a collection of MVs, just forget the story, and enjoy the songs.

This is the second season of High School musical series. Summer vacation is big theme in the movie. In this season, all attractive characters sing, dance and be in love. Summer is the best season for their, I think. I think that songs and dances of this season are the best than all High School Musical series. I had danced to What Time Is It in sports day when I was a junior high school student. So, especially, I like this song in the movie. In this season, there are many gloom scenes, but I think that this season need for High School Musical series. With those quarrels or conflicts make the characters grow, I think. It is essential part.

You know Disney needs to start coming up with more clever ideas. like man of the house with Chevy chase now that was a funny movie. but anyhouserhooser. Disney i want you to get off of your fat hairy butts and stop eating flaming hot Cheeto's and come up with more clever ideas. like your a shark and you got to collect monkey buts from trains falling from trees i would pay to see that. . but seriously stay away so you might as well tongue kiss your cat while your dog is taking a dump on the carpet staring at you while he is pooping out that steak he ate earlier. so bottom line do not see this movie i would'nt if my life depended on itrated GTV version 1hr 47min/107min extended version 1hr 51min/111minBOMB/****

I happen to be a fan of the "High School Musical" trilogy. They're the modern versions of the "Hey, kids, let's put on a show" musicals of the late '30s and '40s. No, there's no music by Gershwin or any of the greats, there's no Judy Garland, and there's no Mickey Rooney. There are, however, attractive, enthusiastic, talented kids.In HSM2, the kids end up at a resort in Colorado for the summer. It's a resort where Sharpay and her brother Ryan perform yearly. Troy and Gabriella get jobs there, and apparently everyone else gets a job there too, the notion of the big boss being that Sharpay might want her friends around her. She would, if she had any.To me, there's nothing special about any of this music. It all sounds the same, but I like the dancing. Zac Efron is adorable - and you'll find many women my age who think so. He's our guilty pleasure, which is why we wind up watching movies like this.I maintain that you have to take these films as they were meant to be taken -- as light entertainment aimed toward teens -- and not expect anything else. To inject reality into it and say things like, the kids aren't being paid, for instance, is ridiculous. There's no reality in this film. How many high school kids do you know that spontaneously do production numbers while just standing around in the gym? Take it for what it is and enjoy the youthful energy, and stop thinking it's a Scorcese film.
