Reviews

Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Billie Morin This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Wyatt There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Michael Radny It's a shame that companies just release mindless rubbish just to real in some dollars. Hoodwinked 2 is no different. It's boring, repetitive and has no place to be a sequel. Somehow someone gave this the green light. The first one at least had some fun parts for all ages in it, but this one probably would only sought a 3 year old, because, lucky for them, they would just forget about it and not think about the time wasted. Trashy animation. Feel sorry for the people that had to put the time and effort into making this rubbish film. I would t recommend it to anyone and I'm surprised that anyone would give it any more than a 1/10. Boring and the same old that we've been spoon fed before.
Python Hyena Hoodwinked 2: Hood Vs Evil (2011): Dir: Mike Disa / Voices: Hayden Panettiere, Glenn Close, Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, Cory Edwards: Hoodwinked is an underrated and hilarious animated treasure full of originality on its measures on the classic Red Riding Hood story. This sequel has moments of inspiration but it pales in comparison to the first film. Hansel and Gretel are kidnapped and are the bait for a cooking sacrifice unless Granny conjures up the secret ingredient to a magical recipe. Red is busy training when the first mission fails. She is reunited with the Wolf and his sidekick Twitchy the squirrel to form a rescue mission. To do so they must seek out the giant whom reigns on the beanstalk. Director Mike Disa is backed with animated moments that inspires laughter but the freshness is gone. Hayden Panettiere replaces Anne Hathaway voicing Red who breaks training to undergo a rescue that she will learn that she cannot do alone. Glenn Close as Granny outsmarts the witch only to be outsmarted in a superb plot twist. Patrick Warburton as the Wolf feels like a screw up due to the first mission foil but he will eventually have to form an alliance with Red. Joan Cusack voices Verushka the witch who shares a past with Granny. Cory Edwards, who directed the superior original film, provides the noises of Twitchy Squirrel. The third act is mostly juvenile violence with solutions that seem all too convenient. The first film showcased creative storytelling and a fun take on the classic characters. This sequel doesn't measure up enough hot air to blow down the straw house. Score: 4 / 10
khany82 I loved the first, atmospheric, original, creative no cheezy pointless predictable boy meets girl plot lines (like seriously there's far too many, if not at least a sideplot), a Goat that taught me the importance of always being prepared, the animations stylised, and it took u through this unmistakable Rashomonesque adventure, to me the ending fell apart because it abandoned its slow reveal and went into hyperdrive but in the end I;d still give the original 9.5 purely because of its ingenuity. Now this movie, I felt cautious, one the trailer doesn't do it any justice, and 2 there's the Hansel and Gretel plot line making me fear the worst a love plot line with Red and 3 can Haden do a good job as minor spoilerAnne? All these issues are resolved for me, Haden's fine, there's no ridiculous plot line and most importantly the trailer pales in comparison. Now I'll admit the film had its problems, the pacing is bordering on ADD, it can't regurgitate Rashomon again, and there's a hell of a lot of ideas packed into this film it barely gives you time to process, but once u do process the writing the ideas the interpretives are all stylised well. The comedy's there, the thought is there, the characterisations there and the film has a far better resolution than the original film.Personally I want to see a third, they always have great villains, ideas, and the pacing needs to return to a slower style, and if the filmmakers are reading this bring back some intrigue, i know u guys are ingenious enough to do it in a different and stylised way, take it out of the third man or something and the Goat is still my hero!
gavin6942 Red Riding Hood is training in the group of Sister Hoods, when she and the Wolf are called to examine the sudden mysterious disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. While the film has a great cast, it is so light on quality, it could have been a television episode -- this is not feature film quality. A few good jokes here or there, but a weak story and just nothing that really grabbed my attention. It seems the game these days is to make terrible sequels. "Shrek 4" was a letdown, "Open Range 3" was just average... this one, though, sets a new low bar in effort. Nobody involved gave a hoot about it (except maybe the voice talent, and they must have been in a very good contract, because I do not know why they would want to be in this after reading the script).
