Truly Dreadful Film
Sharkflei
Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

This is actually a plot for a good book, not a movie. After the twist, I had to watch some parts of the movie again to look for some clues the director might have inserted to let the audience guess it. Well, the clues are very rare and sometimes they don't come where they should have been (e.g. Chris's reflection from the window pan at 00:23:15 should have been edited out at least). Some people might say it is not a horror movie. The horror actually comes after the audience realize what the main character had been through the whole time, from the lost of her eight-month child after an argument with her husband, to the death of the latter after she warned him not to drink (while they had just move in a new place to start over), to bathing the corpse and even have some kind of intercourse with him... is utterly horrible. This movie is definitely worth watching !

For 70 minutes, a bunch of seemingly insignificant things happen like phones ringing and pies baking and cell phone chargers being missing and axes being shown, and you think to yourself, man it is going to be great when they tie all these things together into a shocking surprise ending! The surprise is that they actually were insignificant events, and that nothing frightening, tense, or remotely interesting happens at all. If they had have used any of the not-especially-creative plot turns that I imagined happening as I was watching, this movie could have had some redeeming value, like: The old lady is actually her in the future... She finds out she is pregnant again after her husband dies... The creepy realtor is in some kind of cult that looks to sell this house to turn the new owners into some kind of sacrificial offering. But alas it turns out that the only redeeming use for this film is to have something to recommend to someone who doesn't realize that you actually strongly dislike them. They will know once they watch, or they will no longer want to be friends with you for suggesting it.If you actually watched the movie and are only reading this after the fact, rate this review helpful if you found the review to be more entertaining than the movie itself.

I didn't understand this storyline at all! What was the point in the film? Or what was the moral of the story? It was also terrible acting and wouldn't class it as a thriller or a horror. It's definitely a low budget film with no real story to it. The girl that plays Maggie is annoyingly awful. Also that they absolutely adore one another one minute then hate each other the next is strange. It's not realistic at all and didn't really make me want to jump up to find out what happens next. I don't think I'll be recommending the film anytime soon. It's just confusing. My boyfriend fell asleep 20 minute after starting as he was bored and normally he never fails to stay awake during a film. It's a waste of time money and energy. Sorry.

The characters are erratic. One minute they love each other madly, the next, they hate each other for no reason. There's no reason to not meet the next door neighbors and ask them about the phone the wife keeps hearing, yet no one bothers to meet the people living in the same house (duplex), even to say hello. He shows her how to start a generator for power at night, yet refused to let her actually start it, and he starts it instead, giving her a hateful attitude. She hears the next door neighbors arguing, and she runs down stairs and out the door. The neighbor speed away in his car, and she implores her now awake husband to chase him in his truck...for no apparent reason. Skip it.
