Why so much hype?
Teddie Blake
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Delight
Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

Sajid khan attempts directing a comedy film and succeeds upto a certain extent. The first half of the film is rank bad ,and the attempts at humour are pathetic.Akshay Kumar brings bad luck to everyone .......and walks with a sad face throughout the film. The film tries to convert this into some funny situations and fails.Example-- Akshay telling about his birth ,after which his father is diagnosed with cancer ,but it turns out to be diabetes ( ? ! ),so ,in happiness his mother gives him sweets ( or something like that ,i forgot ) ,due to which he dies due to hyperglycemia ( high sugar level ) !!Are we really supposed to laugh at this ?To make the situation more ' funny ' ,there is Ritesh Deshmukh ,a Marathi , who has married Lara Dutta , a Gujarati ,whose father Boman Irani refuses to keep relations with her for marrying against his wishes. For this perfidy , the father's overweight mother beats him with a cane.We are told that this happens daily Akshay eventually lands up with Deepika Padukone whose name is Soundarya Bassapa Rao ,also called Sandy ........but Akshay calls her Saaaandy ( as in Saand ) But Akshay is now confronted with her older brother Arjun Rampal ,an ultra-tough ,sophisticated ,polished anti-terrorism officer ..........but he is called anna ( south Indian style )!!So much for some part of the first half.......The audience actually sarcastically clapped at the interval to show how much they ' liked ' all this .The film actually picked up in the second half ,when there were some genuinely funny moments.......and some emotional ones too......Jiah khan tries to give us the hots by exposing ( teeny weeny bikini and all ),but she is overweight ( though some people with peculiar tastes......sutradharji ,for example.......remember shilpa shirodkar ........ may find the bulging ramparts of her body sexciting ), and so is her father ( in the film ) Randheer Kapoor , who also looks sozzled.Lara Dutta and Deepika expose too , and look good in some scenes.Boman Irani is funny , as usual .The situations in which he sees Akshay and Ritesh in ' compromising ' positions due to which he thinks that they are homos , are well developed ........though of course , they are inspired by the more famous Shah Rukh- Saif situations in ' Kal ho na ho '..........though those itself are inspired by the scenes acted out so memorably by Michail Caine in 'Blame in on Rio '.The film being better in the second half , we come out of the theater feeling satisfied upto a certain extent. This is in contrast to a film like ' Singh is king ' , which is good in the first half , but we have not-so-great impression of the film because it does not work in the second half. This film should serve as a lesson to film-makers .....that if they don't have it within them to make both halves of a film good , then they would better make the second half better , so that the audience leaves satisfied !!

Sajid Khan after HEYY BABYY which looked like a poor 70's style film returns with HOUSEFULL which too worked at the B.O. Surprisingly I don't know What people like in this film? The film from start to end gives an impression of being written by some Idiot and for some reason Sajid Khan has got such a big fat ego after the success of such nonsense films he also has planned a sequel. The story is nothing new, Akki's character of a seedha saadha innocent guy is something done to death on big screen and it fails to impress Even though Akki's other repetitive roles in Priyan films are getting boring yet in comparison they seem betterThe film has such nonsense comic scenes that make you cringe, like the shock scene, tiger scene Even the Chunky Pandey track which is funny in scene or two gets boring The romantic track is terrible Boman Irani character too is a caricatured while all the chaos seem so repetitive Arjun's character is like Arbaaz's role in PKTDK(1998) and makes it seem classic in comparison The climax with all laughing and falling off including London Queen is also an example of Mockery and also include Santa and BantaDirection by Sajid Khan is terrible Music is decent, APNE TO JAISE TAISE copied from old classic isn't a match to the old one yet is okay though Mika is no KK and Akshay,Arjun, Ritiesh can never be Big B Akshay Kumar plays the same seedha guy from JAANEMAN and later in ACTION REPLAY, he is restrained compared to his other films but sadly getting typecast and boring now. Ritiesh too needs to get off from comic roles and he is getting repetitive, though his timing/expressions are getting better now but he should stop such stupid roles Boman Irani is again typecast and needs to stop doing such stuff Amongst roles Lara Dutta and Deepika scream, screech and howl and are both terrible with their winy voices Jiah Khan makes a small appearance Arjun Rampal is better of the lot and suits his part before going overboard in climax scene Randhir Kapoor is wasted

Why am I disappointed? The film is made by the same person who had a television series in which he made fun of people like Mahesh Bhatt and Anu Malik for stealing there ideas and music from American movies and musicians. The same person (Sajid Khan) copied his first movie "Heyy Babyy" from "3 Men and a Baby" and now his new movie "House full" is a complete rip-off of "Meet the Parents" and "The Heartbreak Kid" both coincidentally star Ben Stiller in the lead. This proves that he (Sajid Khan) is the biggest hypocrite in the entire Indian film industry, he was not even able to copy the movie properly, I don't know how much they are paying the critics to give it a positive rating.Don't even watch this movie if you are paid by Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, don't watch it for free, don't watch it or you will regret it.

Let me just say this. I am an Indo-Canadian and I don't watch Hindi films because I must otherwise people will think I'm a coconut, I watch them just like I watch any other film. Whoever told me that this movie was funny must have been high as a kite. I have watched incredibly funny films like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Rocket Singh, Athiti Tum Kub Jaoge, Hera Pheri, Bheja Fry, Main Hoon Na and so on. This one has the exactly what I expected outlandish physical violence, homo-erotic situations, inconsistent plot line, over-bumbling males and over-screaming females and Akshay Kumar. That is what happens when you let a production fall into the hands of some rich family run corporation who like to add extra letters to their film titles because they are stupid enough to listen to a numerologist. Just to tell you how painful it was, I turned off the DVD within 20 minutes of the film. Next time I'll watch the film when I'm extra baked on weed.
