This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

I saw this as one of those "it's 11pm I'm not ready for bed what's this movie I've never seen popping up on the schedule" movies. It starts out like countless tween flix -- the crazy night between high school graduation and the the next sunrise that concludes the iconic teen zany hero's journey. It has parts of so many movies past -- RISKY BUSINESS, MY TUTOR, PORKY'S, ORANGE COUNTY, SAY ANYTHING, SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, PRETTY IN PINK, SIXTEEN CANDLES, GRADUATION NIGHT, THE TO DO LIST, et al. The geeky guy, his colorful buddy sidekick, the unattainable sex/love object with a vulnerable heart of gold, the jealous brute BF, the fish out of water ritzy party, the encounter with wildlife, the encounter with booze, the cool parents, losing articles of clothing, you get the picture. What makes this one different? Not much, except that it's updated for 2009, and starring the then-uber-marketable girl who played the cheerleader in HEROES, a ridiculously muddled but popular tv series of its day.What saves this one from sliding further towards sucknosity is not-stupid acting, not-stupid writing and dialogue, and not stupidly impossible situations. Restraint and a modicum of adultness is what saves this one from being mock-worthy. It's pleasant, has some funny moments, tries not to insult your intelligence, and mostly gets away with it.

earlier i said Catwoman is the worst movie ever, well i only saw internet reviews, and i take it back THIS is the worst movie I've ever SEEN.i didn't see this movie in theaters, i forgot it pretty quickly, my parents rented it from the library for me, since we were fans of heroes, i like Hayden Panettiere, me and my brother watched it in my room, a half hour later, my parents asked me why i didn't finish, i just had no words i could say nothing, i am glad they took it back to the library and it's not seen at my library anymore what happened? why would Hayden Panettiere and director Chris Columbus of Home Alone, Harry Potter (and the movie Percy Jackson he directed one year later had something better to offer) agree to this i don't know is this is supposed to be a parody of teen films or what? but i don't care i cant put it into words, this is the ugliest repulsive worst movie I've ever seen.i am of the few people who hated American Pie, for how unlikable the characters were, and not funny the gross out humor was, even American Pie had some believability, and one funny character.the "nerdy" guy were supposed to identify with is a douche from the very beginning and is nonredeemable even by the end, the "hot boyfriend" and the "hot girl" are both psychos, the gay friend who quotes movies (i take offense to this character) is just unrealistically horrible, everyone is unrealistic i just cant put it into words, i barely got through half of this movie, i was just so repulsed at this disgusting horrible image at what someone thinks teen comedies are supposed to be like.

I acknowledge that I haven't read the book, but this cinematic adaptation made Larry Doyle's novelisation of high school life seem ridden with teenage clichés as well as an unrealistic glimmer of hope for geeks. After all, a valedictorian and a lead cheerleader don't often end up being an item of any sort and the film didn't challenge you to believe it. That being a foremost example, the lack of even faint viability of plot (as impracticable as teen movies tend to be) certainly weighed it down. I would class this coming of age flick as a nerd comedy albeit so cheesily geeky that it became a bit mindless really. A better way of categorising this film would be from a relative perspective by terming it a poor man's 'Superbad' minus the presence of characters who you'll remember. Unlike that particular take on high school society, the nerd element didn't quite translate into comedy. Were there really any gags in it? Of this, I honestly wasn't overly sure. I was definitely expecting a low grade standard of humour which wouldn't tickle everybody's fancy but the geeky infusion just didn't deliver much on that front. It was not rather hard to believe in Hayden Panettiere as the 'it girl'. Let's face it, she looks every bit the part. On the same note, Paul Rust wasn't particularly hard to believe either at face value. Yet, he was a picture of disappointing monotony. His performance resembled a punching bag which absorbed the hits that came his way whilst being lifeless and uncontributing. Speaking of punching bags, the senseless 'fight scenes' in this movie definitely seemed out of sync with the concept of teen comedy. Rust didn't do much to create an impression opposing that sentiment. Profound it may not have aimed to be, but the film does deliver a 'don't judge a book by its cover' message. Doubtful it would be taken too seriously though.

I actually got this movie because I thought it was be horrible and would be a good way to clear my mind of stress and fall asleep. I ended up staying up late because it was surprisingly funny. While, I will admit, the movie is very stupid, it is also very hilarious!!! I'm a huge fan of Superbad, Old School, etc...Usually when such far fetched things happened in a movie that make it even "stupider", I don't like them...I honestly haven't laughed as hard as I did, in certain points in that movie, in a longggggg time! If you're looking for a movie for some simple humor...this wins! I remember seeing the previews for this some time back, and kind of wanted to see it. And then when the movie began, I was a little disappointed, but disappointment turned into me being surprised as to the humor within it!
