The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Handsome faces fill the screen, conveying madness and despair thinly veiled by wealth and beauty. Marlene, Lars and Leonhard go way back. Anja (Jessica Schwarz, gripping) enters their world house-sitting for Marlene and Lars. Almost over night, she finds herself married to their friend Leonhard, having a baby. But Leonhard shows little affection, so Anja starts an affair with his best friend Lars. Without knowing it, she mimics Marlene, who left Leonhard for Lars. Anja is punished for crimes of the past and quickly finds herself leading a life of doom. The movie is quiet, unsettling and thrilling all at once. All main characters come across as complex and real. Yet they are all creatures of narrow habit, looking for love.
