TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Sammy-Jo Cervantes There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Brooklynn There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
TheLittleSongbird I don't hate Usher, but I am not a fan of his either, and I did decide to see In the Mix regardless of whether he had acting or lack thereof despite the negative reviews and low IMDb rating. What can I say? Not trying to sound opinionated but this film was awful.First of all, the acting- it was non-existent. Usher has the charisma and the charm I suppose, but he completely forgets his acting skills literally sleepwalking through his role. Usher is not the only bad thing about In the Mix though, everything is bad. The other acting is nothing to write home about, in fact the only good performance comes from Chazz Palminteri and he deserved better than this. The cinematography and such are not good, looking amateurish and as though the film thinks it is a music video. The soundtrack is pretty forgettable as well, I didn't find myself humming a tune or anything as I finished watching the film. Not only that, the story is badly written, with one too many predictable and unrealistic scenarios, the pacing is all over the map and the direction is just as incompetent as the acting. The worst part was the script, which was well and truly abominable. I honestly do not know what the screenwriter was thinking writing this script; there are several bad screenplays but this one does take the biscuit don't you think? And then to add insult to injury, the film is riddled with stereotypes and some of them are really quite unsubtle. In conclusion, awful film and sorry I don't recommend it whatsoever. Go and see it if you like but while not quite the worst movie ever made it is a poor film on pretty much every level and I'll be honest it actually made me somewhat angry. 1/10 Bethany Cox
lisacamillek-1 Why on earth do people think this movie is racist? I found the interracial relations between Italians and Blacks very satisfying. But this is a comedy after all, it's not destined to portray anyone in a negative way. People are people, that's the end of it! Also, people want to blame Usher for his acting talents. I think it's wrong. Usher may not have the same beautiful talent for his music as for his acting, but he definitely CAN act. You should see his performance in the film "Light It Up" with Rosario Dawson. He also performed on Broadway in the hit musical "Chicago". So don't be too hard on him for this "abomination" you call it, that he stared as the leading role.I got so exited when I first saw the trailer, I couldn't wait to see it. Since I don't live in the States, I got the DVD while I was on holiday in New York, and this film always reminds me of the beloved city. Overall I voted ten stars for this film and hope that other people agree with me. Ciao!
Shelley Hamilton If you are even thinking about watching this awful excuse for a movie, please don't. You will be mad that you wasted your time on this garbage. Plot is ridiculous. The acting is horrible. The writing is cliché. Usher needs to stick with his singing career. There should be restrictions on what can be passed off as a mob movie. I feel sorry for anyone who wasted their time and money on this. I have a better idea for a title, how about, "in the dumpster"? OK, IMDb guidelines state I have to write ten lines. I am starting to feel like the people who must have written this movie. I can fill it with empty mindless dialogue. The best part of this movie was when it ended.
musiclovercsa04 I'm a movie fanatic, but I must admit, I sometimes like movies that the greater public hates. But prior to watching the movie I heard a lot of negative comments, and I even refused to go to a theater and pay my hard earned money to see it. So I waited until it came out on DVD. I was expecting Usher to be terrible, and by no means was this an Oscar award-winning picture, but I enjoyed the movie and I enjoyed his performance. I am a hardcore Usher fan, but I didn't watch it with a bias, in contrast, I thought it would horrible. It was a cute little movie. It was a nice yet predictable love story, but most love stories are. And even if you feel like the storyline is horrible as well as the acting, the lead characters are gorgeous! I'm mostly talking about Usher (I am very much so straight), but the leading lady is very beautiful. But yes, Usher is extra FINE in this film. So even if I didn't like the movie I would still watch it on mute.
