CommentsXp Best movie ever!
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
jamariana What I like about this movie is that it is not ordinary and it has a great plot. It's composed of not one, but several little stories within the larger tale. The main character is a handsome, moral individual who cares about more than just money, sex, success, or any of the other things most adults seem to obsess over. He is determined to follow his dream and more than anything to find "the answer". The entire film is allegorical, immensely interesting, and unique. It is a breath of fresh air to find a film like this - one that is wonderful, memorable, not run of the mill, and yet one that I had never heard of before and discovered purely by chance. It is a gem of a film with decent acting and well-written characters and scenes. The film makes you think about what you would do in his situation, it makes you hope for greatness in your own life, and makes you want to know what will happen for the main character. I love these sorts of "journey" films and all the fantastical elements of the movie just make it that much better. Sure, there were certain things about the film I didn't particularly like, like the segment about the girl looking for the perfect sexual experience. I just didn't understand why it was there or why it was necessary for her to be humiliated, but I love the segment about "Euphoria", as well as the last 20 or so minutes of the film. There are also certain questions the film leaves unanswered, but I suppose that mystery just lends itself to discussion - those questions give you something to ponder about, disagree on, or just generally think about the film long after you've seen it. In any sense, it's a very entertaining, special, and worthwhile film.
ccowie An all American road-trip, with a difference, the difference being morals, don't think this counts as a spoiler... The main protagonist is a rich brat about to go to college but wondering what life really holds in terms of answers, and what he gets is a road trip down a road that doesn't really exist...He learns to trust himself, be true to himself, some pretty standard morals, but is faced with some tricky decisions and shown some people who chose otherwise, pretty amusingly as far as we are concerned.Ultimately the young man has to face his demons, and you need to watch it to see how he comes out!Loved this film, really truly loved it, the characterisation, the cast, the sublime satire, truly a wonderful piece of work.
Uriah43 "Neal Oliver" (James Marsden) is a young man who has come to a crossroad in his life. He wants to paint but his father, "Daniel Oliver" (John Bourgeois) wants him to work in a law firm. As luck would have it, while celebrating his 22nd birthday at a local restaurant, an individual of leprechaun and Cheyenne descent named "O.W. Grant" (Gary Oldman) offers him a chance to have a wish granted. But first he has to deliver a package to an address on a non-existent highway named Interstate 60. What follows is a multitude of temptations, trials and lessons which have severe consequences depending on which choices are selected. Both Gary Oldman and James Marsden perform very well while Melyssa Ade (as his girlfriend "Sally"), Deborah Odell (as his lawyer "Valerie McCabe"), Amy Smart (as his dream-girl "Lynn Linden") and Amy Jo Johnson (as the nymphomaniac "Laura") all add nice scenery along the way. Likewise, Ann-Margret (as "Mrs. James") continues to defy age. Be that as it may, there are several thought-provoking scenes and some light-hearted comedy as well. Even so, as good as this film was it could have been even better without the vulgar language and profanity. Why the writer/director (Bob Gale) felt compelled to include it is beyond me. Above average.
Lyric Dreamer Well, I have to say that we have not seen a good film like this for a long while, and it was found by total accident. Grew fondness in James Marsden's ability to add depth and sensitivity to his role in "27 dresses ", I picked this film with confidence.Brilliant cast, Gary Oldman is a wizard, in every film he cast his spells and take us in with him whatever he plays. uplifting stories with moral meaning which is extremely educational for young ones and old, inspiring values, choices and consequences in life. Captive, highly imaginative and unpredictable plots, with rich contents and meanings. To sum it up. this film is more then what we expected in every aspect, It's easily agreed on ~ This is the best family film we have watched this year so far ~
