The movie goes about that somone was murderd en the story goes about the one who killed the women. The movie has been plays in the living room in one house. Rajesh khanna become mental sick in this movie and act as well excellent.Rajesh khanna was strong in his rol and nanda was good too. Rajesh khanna was arrested and the put him a crazy house. Om parkash was good as inspector and usefull like sujit kumar.When you watch this one you will find self out who murderd the women. This movie has no songs, but a good plot and good story and good sypnosis.If you want this movie buy the moserbear version or the EROS version the are the best out and the print are good too.
Yash chopra did good job with this one heads off.I give it a 10 because rajesh khanna act good and have given everything out.

I loved this movie...there were no songs, so you could just focus on the plot. Who needs song anyway, especially when they are not used in context of the plot and waste 1/3 of the movie time? It's a mystery about who killed who. Dilip Rai (Rajesh Khanna) has been accused of his wife's murder, when all he did was throw her across a room. So he flees into the home of Rekha, who has a secret of her own, she with the help of a corrupt cop has killed her husband Jagmohan. Now she has plans to set up an alibi and tried to pin the murder on Dilip. Will Dilip be able to prove his innocence for both murders? I cannot emphasize it enough, I loved the fact that this movie had no songs. This makes the suspense even greater.

Ittefaq was a successful and yet, for several reasons, was a bold experiment in Indian cinema. First and foremost for the fact it had no songs, secondly for the theme of the film, thirdly for portraying a leading character in the film as a negative one, fourthly it was a film totally different from what normally Rajesh Khanna or Yash Chopra used to do. Rajesh Khanna puts in an excellent acting performance in the role of a man accused of murdering his wife and on the run from the law for it. Yash Chopra (director) handles the film brilliantly and the viewer is kept on the edge and guessing right thru to the end. A must see for all lovers of Good Indian Cinema. (Hmmm Good Indian Cinema sound like a misnomer in today's Bollywood)

Very good story. Very few actors on the screen. No songs and yet this movie is a great suspense thriller. Nanda looks very sexy in this movie. She is vulnerable and voluptuous. Rajesh Khanna is does a different kind of role. Overall a must see. Turn off the lights and enjoy.
