Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

I've been super excited to start watching Masters of Horror, and started with this episode in particular because I had heard good things about it. Well...I was a bit disappointed. The acting was positively wooden. While I understand Carrie-Anne Fleming didn't have a lot to work with under the circumstances, her exaggerated movements came across as comical, but not funny enough to make this episode likable as an accidental comedy. The ultra-fake gore was not my favorite, that awkward thing at the beginning where Spivey raped his wife was absolutely unnecessary, even the consensual sex scenes were clunky and unattractive. Jenifer's theme music was also a bit annoying, but that's besides the point. All in all, I know the point of this series was to be kind of campy, that much is reflected in the choice of directors, but this was ridiculous. Will I keep watching the show? Sure. Do I have high hopes at this point for the other episodes? Not exactly.

Prosaic and predictable gore-fest. If creating memorable horror was as easy as the makers of this series seem to think it is, all a slaughterhouse owner would have to do is offer a tour and voilá--the next Edgar Allan Poe!Seen several episodes now and only two things set "Jenifer" apart: a more-than-average enthusiasm for presenting the slaughter of children for our delectation (well, in fairness, one child and one teen. And one kitty cat) and its utter predictability. Its ending was more easily foreseen than the loss of Iraq.Really beginning to wonder now why I gave it that second star
Oh, right. Boobies.

I enjoyed this episode of The Masters of Horror thoroughly. Dario Argento, Steven Weber and Carrie Flemming made this sick little short story come to life beautifully. I have been a fan of Argento's since I was a young teen (I was born in 1979), and I loved the TV show Wings (with Weber) as a child, so I was curious how these two would team up in this day in age. I have to say, this is probably my favorite episode of MoH in all of season one. It's sick and deranged yet I couldn't stop watching. That's in part due to the super sexy Carrie Flemming as the title character. Jennifer has an amazingly sexy body, but the face of demon (if you will), and this girl has quite an appetite! Weber plays a cop who takes pity on her, and he (Weber) is just great in this... I don't want to say much else, except that this is one of those sicko films that isn't for everybody. However of you are a fan of MoH, Argento or like your horror sexy, sick and twisted - this is one film you should see...

I have been a fan of "Masters Of Horror" since I first heard about the series and watched the first one. I have found all the episodes to be truly unique, and seldom have I been let down. In all, I'd have to say that three of the episodes have really risen to the top, and my personal favorite would have to be "Jenifer"... A sincerely disturbing piece of horror, "Jennifer" takes us to places we have not, nor are we likely to ever venture again. Combining absolute grotesque-ness with sheer sexuality. I was shocked to learn that Steven (Wings) Weber had written the screenplay, but it just goes to show you what a talented guy he is. The direction of Dario Argento really brings this tale to life, with visuals you are not likely to see again any time soon. The story itself is a bizarre telling of a carnivorous yet gentle demon-like women, whom has the ability to seduce and destroy. The concept alone is a mind boggling triumph in horror writing, but presented to us in this fashion is an absolute treat in itself. If you like your horror a bit on the dark side, then "Jenifer" is a must see for you.... Truly rises to the top.
