Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Allissa .Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
BigLaxFan94 This film was awesome due to its mostly Native cast. But I found that Johnny's personal struggles were with his brother RT. They were at each other's throats for the most part. RT is the more traditional one while Johnny prefers more of the modern, contemporary way of living. Johnny never fully understood WHY RT and the other members of the family had to defend their traditional lands from the loggers until the very end. When Johnny's father kept popping up throughout the film, it was because he wanted his son to realize the importance of the traditional ways and that the foreign ways were not of him and his People.Another reason why the brothers fought was because RT blamed Johnny for his father's death. I assume that Johnny's father felt a special connection with him which is why he wanted his son to be Chief. I liked how at the beginning when the protesters and the cop went at it head to head. It looked like it was going to be the Kanesatake Conflict of 1990 all over again. ANYWAYS... I give this one a 9 out of 10. That's how good it is.
