Wonderful character development!
Rio Hayward
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Freeman
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

JOURNEY TO THE MAGIC CAVERN is the fifth and penultimate instalment of Full Moon's Josh Kirby series. The fourth film in the series was science fiction based whereas this one goes back to the fantasy genre, with our hero and his buddies heading to the titular location, which is full of bizarre mushroom people who help them to evade the clutches of the determined and ruthless Zoetrope who is still pursuing them. The mushroom people are cool-looking if cheesy creations and made me wonder if those involved had seen the Japanese cult classic ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE. In any case, this is low rent and very cheesy, but that's not always a bad thing.

Having worked briefly in a video store, I would say that this is somewhat of a cheesy series but not the worst I have ever seen. Having a choice between this and Timmy the Tooth, I would pick this hands down. The Muppets are better, but for clean family enjoyment I would choose this. Too bad Irwin turned out to be the villain of the series. I liked Irwin over Zoetrope. They could have done a better job explaining the painting in the cave. And how believable was it that Josh and his friends only got two sleep periods during their whole adventure? Overall, however, the series was basically fun and a keeper, like Space Jam and Mars Attacks.

Josh Kirby, Time Warrior...undoubtedly one of the greatest stories ever told. Well, not really. But it does include some of the worst dialogue this side of MST3K movies. Sets are poorly done, and the costumes are laughably bad. This whole series was shot in Eastern Europe over the course of a year. You might recognize Irwin 1138 as the voice of Basil in the Great Mouse Detective. You might recognize Ding Dong the Mushroom as the Lady midget in Little Nicky. But you better recognize the greatness of this movie, or you will be punished according to the 21 codes of Kang. This movie is a Kitsch classic. Watch it if you enjoy movies so bad they are good.

A badly directed, badly acted, and very badly scripted movie with terrible costumes and sets......nuff said. However, given that a review won't appear unless there are at least four lines written (this movie deserves no more than two lines of comment, good or bad) I add the following comment: save your money and rent/buy something else.
