Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

ivayla I am pretty sure that a lot of people have never heard of the movies that my country Bulgaria have made."Aszparuh" is actually one the best Bulgarians movies. It was shown for the first time in 1981 when Bulgaria had its 1300 birthday. The three movies of the sequence are based on that part of the Bulgarian history when the country was founded and it not only shows the process itself but it also reveals the great personality of the first ruler of Bulgaria. In my opinion the actors managed to show all the efforts and all the drama that accompanied the foundation of Bulgaria. The epic battles that happened are depicted in a very interesting and spectacular way. This is a movie that has to be seen.
emilianino Well. this is an excellent try to follow the history of the Bulgarian NAtion- from the time of the Great Khan Koubrat, till the Great transition of part of the Bulgarian nation towards west/ This is a historic movie with a lot of drama, action, love and suspence. The story shows what difficulties did the Bulgarians have to overcome in order to find their better life in place where is nowadays situated Bulgaria. I really liked the original 3 part sequence as it is more detailed and full of more action --- I was 5 years old kid when I watched it for a first time, indeed. Great actors too- Stoiko Peev, Anya Pencheva, etc. Highly recommended
