SmugKitZine Tied for the best movie I have ever seen
Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
Matrixiole Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
AgentSauvage I do not know why this film has such low reviews. It is not a big budget film but it is well made and funny throughout (if you like dark humour). The casting is excellent and Simon Pegg puts in a deliberately understated performance as the only professional killer among a whole bunch of nasty individuals. I have watched this again and again, because I notice a new nuance every time I view. Watch and enjoy. There are decidedly humorous but cringe-worthy moments throughout the film and the "I'll be there in an hour" catchphrase of his hired-killer has added significance towards the end (not really a spoiler - watch what I mean!) Lovely performances from many great actors/actresses - Simon Pegg is excellent - Bryan Brown is just so unlikable. The plot twists are fantastic. Watch and enjoy!
MattBirk I knew going into Kill Me Three Times that the movie had an abysmal rating of just 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I figured Simon Pegg could have been the saving grace of the movie. But it turns out I was wrong, Pegg wasn't used nearly enough just like most people said. And while the scenes he was actually in were the highlight of the movie, there weren't enough of them and they didn't give him room to actually flourish. It was nice seeing Pegg playing a different character (a villain of sorts) but this unusual role couldn't save this mess. The problem is everything here is just not up to snuff, it seems to be going through the motions. The humor is hardly even mentionable, the characters are completely unlikeable (also uninteresting), and the story derivative. We see the events of a 'hit' gone wrong and the events that play out through multiple perspectives over the course of the movie. It sounds semi-interesting but it is more tedious than engaging. The problem is none of the characters are interesting in the least and certainly not nearly as funny as the movie wants to be. You eventually come to the realization that they are all going to cross paths sooner or later and their motives come forth, so you're just forced to sit back and wait for those moments to come along. And when all is said and done, the movie's story ends just as you would expect it to (the final image is actually mildly humorous).Even if you are a huge Simon Pegg fan just like me, this is something you absolutely do not need to see. You might be thinking that he can save any movie he is in, sadly that is just not true in the slightest. Kill Me Three Times is one of the worst movies of the year.
MattyAndAnnika Okay, so I've always loved movies that featured Simon Pegg as I'm a fan; I just could not get into this movie at all. In reality I felt this movie was done better than a lot of the later film releases of 2014 and 2015 for it's cinematographic and actors; though the story seems just short and rushed. Kill Me Three Times just didn't have that "I want to enjoy a movie" feeling. Now don't get me wrong the film was pretty well put together, I believe that this is just one of those movies that it takes a sure style preference to enjoy. The action in the film was humorous and cute, the acting felt as if I was watching Hot Fuzz; and for once a lower budget movie had good audio mix. Not a bad movie, I'll certainly buy it because Simon Pegg is in it.
Amadio With it's upbeat music and sunny weather KMTT is much darker than it seems at first sight. More Fargo than anything else, it is a 'comedy of errors' - if murder can be funny. The cast delivers well, though Simon Pegg as the bad guy is better than most with his laconic and slightly creepy character. The plot and pacing are competent, as are the photography and editing. Still, somehow, KMTT can't quite seem to make up its mind whether to be humorous or serious; there are actually a couple of rather nasty bits that are delivered in an off-hand way. Fairly predictable, but all the same the way it is done is tidy enough. It's worth watching for some light entertainment, just don't expect to remember it the next week.
