Reviews

Konterr Brilliant and touching
Cleveronix A different way of telling a story
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Horst in Translation ([email protected]) "Komisches Reck" is a German silent short film that runs for under one minute and had its 120th anniversary this year. It is among the earliest German movies of all time actually and the Skladanowskys were the German (far less popular) response to Georges Méliès and other French filmmaking pioneers. It is part of a collection named Wintergartenprogramm, which is really short as well and basically a summary of Skladanowsky's early works. But back to this one here: We see two acrobats. They show us a couple tricks, nothing too spectacular and in the end there is a little slapstick to explain the "Komisches" in the title. However, it is not really funny enough to watch it more than once, Still, thumbs up for Skladanowsky on being part of the early days of film.
