Good concept, poorly executed.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

I saw this movie back in 1973. I still remember what a great movie this was. I was emotionally touched by the 3 story lines in the movie. Each story resulted from the 3 letters that were lost in the mail. Each story is about a person who sent a letter that would have significantly changed the way someone else would have viewed them. I have been hoping that after all these years that there was some way to watch this movie again. After all these years, I forget the details of the movie. Hopefully one day someone will make a remake of this awesome movie. An updated movie probably would not involve lost letters but would involve unread e-mails. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one day I'll be able to see this movie or maybe an updated remake.

I am lucky to own the VHS edition of this TV Movie of the 70's. Every time I watch it I am transported back to being a young teen and staying up late to watch the ABC Tuesday Night Movie. Even though it was a school night, I always seemed able to convince my parents to let me watch these movies. This is a wonderful collection of 3 different stories whose main characters are effected by a letter that was lost in the mail for a year. From the time the letter was sent until the day it was finally delivered the lives of the these people changed dramatically. A very simple premise by todays standards, but just as enjoyable as when I first saw it. I only wish someone would compile a set of these great old TV movies onto DVD!
