Good concept, poorly executed.

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

In other words, this film is a surreal ride.

The movie is not interest enough (bore and predictable plot), but I watch because it was nothing on TV the other night. Amanda Seyfried still can't act and there is no chemistry between her and the guy who played Vanessa Redgrave moody grandson. There's no character development at every characters. I don't understand why Vanessa Redgrave agreed to appear in this movie. The movie has nice scenery of Italy it makes you desire to visit one day. This movie is sleepover movie for tween & teenage girls.

This was a pretty good romantic movie with nothing new in terms of formula and plot...but it's still enjoyable, especially with Amanda Seyfried in the lead and a good cast to back her up. This follow Seyfried as she's a writer/journalist who travels to Italy to meet her fiancé and follow up on some stories about letters to Juliet that were supposed to have been written. (Yes, the Juliet from the Shakespeare play.) She finds the letter, including one that's 50 years old, and it upsets a man from London that she meets. This is a good romance that pleases from start to finish with good shots of the Italian countryside and good characters. I liked it and you will too.** 1/2 out of ****

I watched this with loads of expectations as it was based on love and the idea of sending letters as Juliet intrigued me. But honestly speaking it was a HUGE Disappointment. It was okay to start with all its beautiful surroundings and love all around but it was firstly a bit too predictable, in that it could be easily understood that Lorenzo and Sophie will breakup sooner or later due to their differences and secondly I really don't understand how can Sophie's letter reach its destination in the first place.. I mean in Claire's letter it was clearly mentioned that she is going away and now that she was soo old, and had a grandchild for Heaven's sake can she get an answer for the letter she had written as a young girl waiting for an answer?I just don't get it. To me this movie seriously lacked substance and logic.

I have this movie downloaded from a month, but i didn't know why i have not watch this movie earlier. Its a lovely story with a Bollywood touch, and a nice happy ending and no one dies in the end.Story of movie is predictable. Within 15 minutes you will get a gist of the climax of the movie.....but you wait eagerly to see what happens next. Of Course the acting of Christopher Egan and Amanda Seyfried looks natural and the locations in Italy where the film was shot were eye-catching especially the scene of vineyards farms. . All over the movie is sweet and charming. Do watch it if you like watching love stories.
