Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
telmalopes-777-847926 There is something very human about this movie, and to prove it, we all felt sorry for Adam. And it was not because of the clichê of "seeing the perfect woman marrying the other guy"; but because Adam seems so lost in his life. His job, his love life, his friends, and even his family feel completely relatable, always telling what he should do or should have done, and we feel for him... Yes, this is a cringeworthy movie - but in the best way possible. His situation is cringeworthy, so why would the movie feel any different? We pitty him, we feel we all know some guy/girl who got too caught up on a former relationship, and it seems like Adam story is not new... because it is not. But this one was told in a loving way, showing glimpses of what Adam remembers (and idealizes) from the relationship, as they both try to be 'adults' in a very realistic way. The movie defines very well Adam in the beginning, showing why he acted as he did, and how lost he really is. This is not about her, 'the love of his life', this is about a man trying to navigate between labels in life, what you should do, or feel; and what everyone expects of you. So, I guess this is not the romantic comedy you were waiting. It's is not about the girl, the love or the confettis... It is about social norms and conventions, hopes and idealizations, and how a young man navigate between those.I really enjoyed it... ...But had to take out one point for Cobie's awful (fake?) bangs! (jk)
Amer I liked this movie far more than I should have. The fact that some reviewers were so drawn into the movie that they had to write "reviews" only to express how pathetic of a man "Adam" was, translates into Justin Long doing a wonderful job portraying a character that describes itself as an alien in the movie.I really appreciated how the character "Allison" was just an observed character that wasn't present for most of the movie. You see her in the eyes of Adam and she only actively participates when she talks to him. Cobie Smulders rarely disappoints. I must add that the movie is visually beautiful, evidenced by many scenes throughout the movie, of which I cite the scenes played over the end credits. The movie really did make me feel different emotions, strong emotions; and for that fact, I praise it.
SmackDabb This is a movie that stays on point with our protagonist Adam (Justin Long) throughout the entirety of the film. Its about the nature of relationships and how not all of them end after they end so to speak. Watch this film from Adam's point of view and it suddenly becomes engrossing because you can never guess how someone in this situation will react to a combination of jealousy, rage, longing, confusion, and love. The complexity of panicked emotions that accompany heavy romantic relationships are showcased here very well. This is a great addition to those who love serious but also witty relationship films. Justin Long is a wonderful actor who is able pull off a detailed rendition of a hopeless romantic on the verge of self destruction. If you were entertained after seeing this look up and watch Justin Long's other film " Comet ". You shouldn't be disappointed!
aslanyagcilar In short the movie is about 2 couple who have been in a long relationship in the past who are trying to move on, Allison (Cobie) invites his ex-boyfriend Adam (Justin) to attend her wedding with her new boyfriend (or future husband), things down the line start getting weird as Adam starts to remember the past and the relationship he had with Allison, and by the end of the movie he tries his best to get her back, but ends up screwing it all up for good.*Note: In real life situation you wouldn't dare attend your ex-girls wedding nor would she even invite you, i think it could have been more sensible if it was centered around for example an engagement party of some kind, because that would be your very last chance to turn things around (if you can), not at an actual wedding where everything is already pre-prepared, so i think in that context the film could have taken a different approach, i was happy though on how well Allison (Cobie) and Adam (Justin) acted with their face impression, mimics and essence of the characters.
