ReaderKenka Let's be realistic.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Jemima It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
mariannlydvo This movie is probably meant to be humorous and a bit satirical. Perhaps it´s also meant to be filled with clichès and stereotypes. However, I didn´t really enjoy this. In my opinion, when horror and humor team up together, it makes for the worst movies. Horror and humor alone are generally mediocre movies, so mixing them together really doesn´t work for me.
Reno Rangan This is from the director of 'Tucker & Dale vs Evil'. So the expectations were high, but it was a let down. The film is watchable, but not good enough. It is actually a spoof. If you are familiar with common horror film cliches, then you will get most of it. Still, those things seem overused. I liked the idea, but I don't think they have used it in a better way. It was about a man who is married to a most beautiful woman. But the trouble is, her 5 year old boy who does not go along with him. Then he set to discover the dark secrets about him. Finally comes the time to make things right by confronting it.Netflix was the game changer in the filmmaker, especially to reach the viewers, as well as young and small filmmakers. So no films are flop, because they have all the time in the world to collect back what they've spent, unlike big screen films depended on 2-3 month window through the box office. That's why I'm always eager to watch Netflix films. Because it's available anytime, anywhere. I know some people had liked the film, I guess they did that on the entertainment basis. Like enjoy watching it and then soon forget it. That little kid was cute, but his character was exactly opposite. The rest of the cast was not bad. A decent film for watching at once!5/10
meddlecore A guy moves in with his new fiancé, only to discover that her son from a previous marriage...just might be the antichrist. The boy seems to possess the ability to subconsciously drive people to get into accidents or commit suicide. But, his mother isn't willing to listen to any criticisms about her beloved son. There are all these lame references to other horror films like poltergeist and the shining. But they aren't done very tastefully...or well.In fact, this whole movie is woefully awful...even as a children's movie it's bad. It's incredibly budget. The acting is poor. It's neither funny, nor creepy, on any conceivable level. And there is no nuance to the storyline whatsoever.Seems like Netflix didn't even try on this one...they just spent a few bucks on cameos, and pumped it out as new content- without any f*cks given.Netflix has a terrible horror section. Period. You should probably cancel your subscription every October and use the money to rent some real horror films from a real cinema shop. This move has no redeeming qualities whatsoever...unless, maybe, you are under 10 and have no dad... 1 out of 10.
Peter John Fudpucker About the only thing, I dislike the most in any movie, is a glimpse ahead at the beginning of the movie. It works in very rare cases, but the look into future events at the beginning of this movie holds no relevance. It offers no subtle or vague idea but slaps you in the face that this will occur at some point in the film. With that said, this movie is a satire (e.g. Little Nicky) about the belief in an apocalypse brought on by the son of Satan or the Antichrist. If you are strongly religious and cannot take a joke, you won't enjoy it. Adam Scott plays Gary, a man who marries a woman without getting to know her or her son very well. Owen Atlas does a remarkable job playing Lucas and that is rare to have talent at such a young age. If you were expecting to see more horror than comedy, this is also not for you. This also pokes fun at self help groups and society's need to force other people issues onto you. You are the new dad, so this must be all your fault. If you need a mild comedy-horror-spoof this Halloween then this could be the warm up act for better movies. As for the apocalypse, it was much better than I expected.
