Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

I was a little disappointed after watching this movie, this movie was quite popular a while ago in China, so I decided to watch it on Netfix to keep up with the good movies in China. First of all, the English translation of the name of the movies is not appropriate. It made me think that the whole story happens in space, while the whole movie is about three stories of different couples in different places. Some parts of the movie were way too fake and not realistic that made me laugh. I do like that they start to add effect in the movie, such as people were floating in the space, which looked pretty real. However, the movie is just another typical Chinese love story, you can predict the ending as soon as you start to watch. It wasn't touching either even if it was supposed to be.

This movie has it all: Zero G tears, EVAs gone horribly wrong, and an asteroid shaped like a cardiod. It has every romance cliché ever conceived, and yet still somehow finds the time in just an hour and a half to invent new ones. We start with three over-achieving Chinese daughters. One, the incognito famous actress who falls for the unknown writer / watermelon salesman. Then we have the germ-a-phobe who is nuts for the garbage man. Finally the star-crossed taikonauts engaged in sappy stomach churning zero G keep away, food fights, and space sickness. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll get out your barf bags and beg for it to stop. But it just keeps on going, along the way exposing love for the ridiculous joy that it always is, transcending the silliness, bordering the magical. B+++.

Surprisingly Love in Space works and despite using all the clichés, corny love quotes and cheesy confessions of love. It works because the film never takes itself too seriously, nor does it try to be profound. It is a simple Fruit Chan's production that shows couples getting together and nothing more. Indeed, chemistry between co-stars is a must and the casting is undoubtedly a success. Aaron Kwok and Rene Liu convinces as a corny space couple, Eason Chan and the talented Guey Lun Mei shows honest emotions and surprising Angelababy impresses for the first time. With some parts of the film being shot in Sydney, one must question why isn't more films shot in this beautiful city. Despite all the cheesiness and corniness, the film somehow reminded me to treasure someone more. All in all, Love in Space works and it makes me happy

3.5 stories (Mom gets 0.5) - 1 in China, 1 in Australia, and 1 in outer space, all involving her 3 unmarried daughters, all looking for love.Given I don't speak Mandarin, I appreciated the well done sub-titles, and I enjoyed the interplay of the occasional English thrown in. Not a lot of suspense as to the outcome (though one story did seem headed for a "traditional" (read unhappy) ending...) SPOILER: I've seen a number of Chinese movies, but this is the first I can remember that has a HAPPY ending (or make that endingS). END SPOILERYes, it's predictable, yes it's a lot of fluff, but still, enjoyable. You'll forget it 20 minutes after the movie ends, but while running, a fun ride. Besides, who could resist a movie that has an actress named Angelababy...
