Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

Lucia is surely is one of the best movies in recent times not only in kannada but also in India. It truly deserves all the accolades and success it has got.Cannot believe movie was made at a cost of 50lakh rupees. It has come out amazingly well and colourful.Pawan deserves lot of credit for bringing out the kickass awesome script which is not less than any Hollywood movie. The performances by all the artists is brilliant.Even the songs have come out beautiful and apt for the movie. The BGM is awesome through movie especially at the climax it hits u hard. This Shows how good the team work considering the money constraints they had.Hats off to Pavan kumar and team for bringing out a masterpiece movie. Not to miss the making of this movie on youtube. Its very interesting and ideas they have used while making this low cost rich movie is amazing.Looking forward to ur next movie C10H14N2.

Though basically from Bangalore, i have to admit i haven't seen many Kannada films. But i was keen on watching this given all the hullabaloo that preceded the making of the movie. And boy, was it worth the wait?!! Lucia has to be one of the best(if not the best!!)to come out of the Indian movie scene in recent times. The non-linear structure of the movie ensures that the viewer DOES NOT have to leave his brains back home. One has to really concentrate on the proceedings to stay in tune with the flow. The film does tend give one the notion of taking the "traditional" route of such movies for most part of the second half but springs a terrific surprise towards the end that is sure to end this movie watching experience on a high.Do watch this if non-conformist movies are your type.

I can use all the best adjectives in English and still someone will describe my review as "under-appreciative". In the time of troubled Indian cinema especially regional cinemas, with Hero-centric, songs- filled (though unnecessary), heroine-exploited (though they can act) films, this is a ray of hope. In the middle of such a Saharan cinema, "LUCIA", is an oasis.Psychological thriller, if taken proper care, can turn into an artistic marvel and Pawan Kumar (Director) has done precisely the same. Lucia is the story of an insomniac who seeks the need of a sleep inducing pill that confuses him between dream and reality causing life-threatening danger. Touch of sheer brilliance glimmers throughout the movie, with the director leaving clues to the audience which a sharp-eared fan can capture to understand "the twist" before it is revealed. The alternate usage of color and black-n-white adds depth and clarity to the movie. Songs, though present, move along with the screenplay aiding the pace. The satirical comedies are also sprinkled throughout (result of illiterate meeting foreigners). The director deserves credit for multiple reasons: usage of an epic production idea, bringing the movie as close to reality as possible, usage of minimal characters in the maximum possible extent, drawing wonderful comparisons between dream and reality. The cast, though I am not familiar with Sandalwood, has done exactly what was needed: neither did they under-act nor did they over-act. Lucia is definitely the kind of movie that we can recommend to International audience.Let this attempt be an example for everyone else will follow.

Always I had a bad opinion about Kannada movies from last decade where there were very less number of quality movies were released to market. Those which were released either were remake of Telugu or Tamil which were taken up by some talentless sons/daughters of directors producers. But whole last year 2013 I was hearing about this movie a lot over the internet like " first crowd funded" "screened at London" which made me an urge to watch this movie. One of the Kannada movie which is shot and directed intelligently in the industry by Pawan Kumar. The movie is based on a popular film star who is suffering from insomnia dreaming of having a ordinary life filled with lots of happiness. This movie can be compared with similar lines of direction lines of Hollywood movies like pulp fiction or Inception. Again after very long time the best movie.
