One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

Baffles me to see this 6-year-old film with an 8.2 rating here on IMDb. Then again it shows that you can be entirely free of talent and still have a movie-making career appreciated by some. "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" is a mix of live action and animation written and directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp. Co-writer is semi-famous actress Jenny Slate who also voices the title character in a really unbearable voice. The entire film is basically a collection of mostly unfunny one-liners that were intended to be funny though. It always sucks to see how quality movies do not get sequels and this one already has two. The best thing about it is that it does not even run for four minutes. Obviously shows that the material here is neither good in terms of quality and quantity. And almost painful to listen to. What an uninspired main character. Do not watch.

Who would've thought that a tiny little shell could find it's way into our hearts by guiding us through his every day life? Well, apparently the mega-gifted Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer- Camp did. Jenny Slate, who is maybe best known for her involvement in SNL, also does the voice. In creating this uber simple (in concept, not in retrospect that stop motion is never easy) 4 minute video, they attempt to fit in some marvelously witty jokes on top of creating a character we'll surely know and love for a long, long timeI'm happy to know Marcel the Shell and I'm more than thrilled to keep sharing this film with all my friends.
