LouHomey From my favorite movies..
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Marie C We sat around the TV on a cold Sunday afternoon, eager to watch a good movie, glad that we weren't watching another re-run, and thought "oh great, Hillary Duff!" -we usually enjoy watching her movies, but I need to say that this is definitely the worst one she's played in! If the Olsen Twins turned it down, the Duff sisters should definitely have turned it down too! I don't know which one of the sisters' acting was worse, they were both really really bad. The script was full of racist comments, I wouldn't want any child to watch this and think it was okay to act in the way these two acted. Do yourself a favour and don't waste 90mins+ of your lives watching this, and don't let your kids watch it either!
MLDinTN This movie was pretty lame. It was like a soap opera made for MTV starring 2 hot teen heiresses in the mold of Paris Hilton. The target audience is 12 year old girls and that is about all who will like this. The Duff sisters are too rich kids in charge of their late father's cosmetic company. A scandal breaks out and their company loses value, instead of selling for 100 million each they could only sell for 60 million each. Real tragic for the Marchetta sisters. Their friends outcasts them and they decide to do a little investigating rather than sell. They find sabotage within the company and fight to save their company's reputation.FINAL VERDICT: Not much of a plot. Mildly amusing, but this movie isn't for everyone.
jotix100 If you are a fan of trendy clothes, superficiality, and emptiness, "Material Girls" is the film for you. But, if on the contrary, you have a mind of your own, and couldn't care less for designer labels, and all the trendiness of a certain group of people, then this is a movie you might not enjoy. Even as the Marchetta girls keep getting poorer by the minute, they seem to have a knack for pulling the right outfits to go with their new impoverished state! One was curious as to what attracted Martha Coolidge, its director, to such paper thin material. She has done better with other movies, so we were surprised to see her at the helm of this project which will not add anything to her resume. As far as the acting goes, this movie will not win any awards, that's for sure. Even Angelica Huston, an actress of excellent taste seems to be asking to herself, "What am I doing in this piece of $#%%^%"!
xsxx-1 Well, its one of those films you watch and at the end you don't feel satisfied! But not too bad for a chick flick.Hilary & Hayley delivered on the acting side yet the storyline ended too fast. there was no proper ending which left me wanting more! I wanted to see more of the relationships towards the end. The thing we all love about girly movies is the 'happily ever after' feeling at the end. This film missed this :( definitely not the best film (Hilary's worst to be honest) but a lot better than some other films out there! Before watching a movie, i have expectations especially if i like the cast. Don't go into this movie with high expectation and you will enjoy it.xSx87x
