Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Wyatt There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
eismoc It is a movie that has great elements. Maybe this is Sam Rockwell's best acting, filled with passion in scenes that get interesting as the story develops, in a very entertaining sequence of scenes that kept me attached to watching it since the early minutes. Although most of these scenes tried (successfully) to picture quite complex drama from the beautiful story, but Rockwell added his own touch to most of these scenes, mostly due to (maybe) his own natural personality, his facial expressions, his voice, .. those many little things that a professional actor uses to make you forget for a moment that this is a sci-fi movie. Moon has many of such moments in fact. I didn't believe at first that this is the first real cinema movie made by the director Duncan Jones. It was a very solid cornerstone, and there is no surprise that it was followed by a series of great movies, Source Code (2011), and Warcraft (2016). The movie is perfect. I liked it a lot. 9/10.
daoldiges The guys from Filmspotting mentioned Moon the other day, prompting me to want to check in out for myself. I'm not what you would call a hard core Sci-Fi fan, although I do really enjoy it. I also recognized many ideas and concepts that I'd seen in other films, and yes some of the story was not really plausible, but despite these I did enjoy Moon, and I think it's because of the unique and fresh way it was all put together. This one solo person out there on this three year mission confronting all of this alone I found it easy to put myself in his shoes and because of that I found Moon entertaining.
Pjtaylor-96-138044 'Moon (2009)' is smart sci-fi with a small budget and small-scale story but big ideas alongside impressive visuals. It's a real treat from beginning to end thanks to its unconventional, compelling narrative and an excellent performance from Sam Rockwell. While it isn't quite as satisfying to rewatch as you'd expect - though it is as entertaining as it is the first time around, this is a confident and competent piece that uses what it has to bring its vision to life, playing with themes and concepts that far outreach its budget but doing it with crafty poise. 7/10
junecleavage8 I came across this on Netflix in 2018, thinking it was probably a movie I had already seen. I'm So glad that I kept watching, because this is one of the more charming and emotionally-impactful "solo mission in space screws with your head" movies out there. I can't believe I'd never come across it until now. There are a handful of movies it reminded me of... but then I realized I was watching a 2009 film, and there have been many movies since then that borrowed pages. Regardless, the main premise of this film is fresh. It trots out predictable tropes of the genre and then quickly - and superbly - subverts them at every turn. All the while, it keeps you thinking and feeling.Fun, emotional, psychological and genre-subversive. Enjoy.
