nikhil damodaran The movie, supposedly a sequel of murder, at the outset clarifies that this is not so. This is an entirely different story in lines with the Saw series which explores the min of a serial killer.The story - a serial killer is loose in Goa during the time of Christmas and call girls are disappearing. Who is the serial killer? Why does he do so? How does the protagonist (Hashmi) prevent any more murders? what is in store for the viewer is a half baked, bad timed suspense.The pros - a) its possibly a critique of the Indian or for that matter any other justice system where insanity plea would reduce the crime of the killer. b) the story is about an ex-cop who chooses not to be in the system cause he doesn't believe in one. (Even these two themes are operationalized much better by 'A Wednesday')The cons - a) the story line is revealed in the middle with no suspense as to who the killer is or why does he commit murder. b) the reason for the serial killer committing murder isn't strong enough to compare it with saw. c) the movie has shades of morality beating around religion. why does bollywood drag the name of allah ram or Christ to face the question of morality? c) Jaquline cannot act! Emran tries to carry the weak film, but neither is he known for his acting skills. d) its a bit dragging towards the end! e) it makes fun of the transvestite.I give this movie a 4/10.

Chrysanthepop Not surprisingly, Mohit Suri makes yet another rip-off (the Korean movie 'Chaser') and, of course, with the added recycled Bhatt material (eunuch 'rapist' villain -as evident in 'Sadak' and 'Sangharsh'), clumsy sex scenes and the Bollywood ingredients (song and 'dance', including the required item number). It may not be among the most expensive films but it's quite apparent that a lot of money has been spent. However, 'Murder 2' still looks and feels like a B-movie. Camera-work is overdone. Editing is shoddy. Too many subplots that aren't fleshed out, lots of plot holes. The use of light is effective especially in the nocturnal sequences. Most of the performances are average at best. Emraan Hashmi does go overboard in several scenes. Jacqueline Fernandez seems to only have been required for her body. Sulagna Panigrahi does a confident job and... if there is one reason to watch 'Murder 2' at all then that's Prashant Narayanan who easily steals the show as the ruthless vicious sociopathic serial killer. One good that came from the box office success of this forgettable, rather lacklustre thriller is the appreciation of this actor, most of whose memorable works received little recognition.

ranamajid007 I have watched it today 29,April 2012.That was really superb n awesome movie. I couldn't even leave it for a second... Full of entertainment, mystery and spicy movie. All the songs very beautifully sung and the lyrics very also very good. Specially the last song "Ae-Khuda". Today i have become fan of "Mohit Suri" and i hope more good movies to be released n directed by him.. Emran Hasmi did very superb acting, Priya was looking too hot through out the movie... although she was there for very short scenes.... Oh yeah. The villain......... hahaha.... He was really very freaking creature...... moreover acting was very good by him too. If its still on cinemas..... go and watch it.Rather buy two tickets. One for yourself n one for me because i m planning to watch it again... ;) 10/10

Afsal Hussain (afsalthodupuzha) Murder 2,the latest installment from Mohit Suri has nothing in connection with the original Murder,but has its own dose of entertainment in store for the audience.It has been inspired by the Korean slasher film The Chaser.The film is strictly not recommended for the children and the light-hearted and may be disturbing for them.Good performances,excellent music and protruding darkness make it an entertaining fare for the people who love erotic thrillers.The main highlight of the movie is a stellar performance by Prashanth Narayan.It is certainly one among the best crime thrillers to be made in Bollywood.Box office reports of the movie is excellent and has a steady collection for the first week.Prashanth Narayan steals the limelight with his psycho-killer mannerisms.Emran Hashmi does his job quiet well. Jaquiline Fernandez has nothing much to play than to show some flesh and hot scenes.Sulagna Panigrahi is a talent to lookout for future and does a commendable job.Some +ves::Excellent music,Good performance by Prashanth Narayan and Sulagna Panigrahi,Cinematography by Ravi Walia,Fast paced first half and Shagufta Rafique's dark screenplay. Some -ves::Absence of any connection with Murder 1,Some heavily disturbing scenes,Little bit slow second half and Not so appreciable editing work.Music by Harshit Saxena,Mithoon,Sangeet Haldipur,Siddharth Haldipur is really melodious,touching and mind soothing.The album is one of the best musicals of 2011 and can be rated a 8.5/10.Verdict::Murder 2 is an entertaining crime thriller with some good performances and music,which has nothing in connection with its prequel.Go 4 a darker,sleazier entertainer.Not recommended for the light-hearted.Ma Rating::7.5/10
