Great visuals, story delivers no surprises

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

This film helps us to understand something I've too often wondered about, which is how a serial killer got to the state of mind where he could act out his crimes. It humanizes Jeffry Dahmer from someone who was a monster, to someone who was a pathetic, unloved youngster who was unable to make loving connections with his family and fellow humankind. All told from someone who directly contributed to, and apparently regrets Dahmer's wretched condition, which makes the story all the more believable, heart-wrenching and horrific.

As i started this film the very first thing that crossed my mind is that it played like a comedy. The characters came across as caricatures and it bothered me throughout the entire film. I don't understand what the point of this movie was. Some movies don't have to have a point; this one because it's about a time in the life of a very prolific serial murderer does. This film is based on the graphic novel and you can tell. The one thing i know this movie isnt and that is a look at the making of a serial killer. This movie starts with him being 14-15 and there was already the obsession and sexual arousal of dead things. I thought it was a complete dud.

His review nails it, wanted to emphasize its a six movie with the writing and Ross lynch putting it into a 7, a must watch for me. Youll be hard pressed to feel more like your in high school from any other film. It has real eloquence and applause for painting the characters fast. I really appreciated being Able to spend most of the runtime in the Dhamer high school awkward fest.

I gotta say, I liked the graphic novel much more than this movie. In film version, it moved very, very slowly. Still, the topic, Dahmer's high school days, drew me in, in a sort of twisted fascination. Ross Lynch does a very good job in the lead role, sort of a Napoleon Dynamite gone wrong, in an Ed Chigliak sort of way. I was able to feel badly for Dahmer in this phase of his life, and I was left wondering a lot of what if's. I guess every life has these what if's, and Dahmer's ended up taking the horrifying road that it took. Creepy. Even creepier, to me, are the people who "lived" through their encounters with him. What about the prom date? Holy mackerel! A unique look, the unveils itself slowly.
