SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Mabel Munoz Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
chauhan-mg Korean cinema really churns out some mind-blowing fresh original movies.Like many non-Koreans viewers i was also simply blown away by a simple yet touching story like 'My sassy Girl' and naturally MSG has set a standard hard to surpass but still My little bride deserves respect and appreciation for being a cute romantic love story which will surely gonna bring a smile on your face if not completely blowing your head.Though movie is around 2 hours long but the plot doesn't look stretched and director gives sufficient time for characters and feelings to develop. The movie is successful in retaining its innocence which was also the soul of MSG and yes the soundtrack is awesome and fully complements to this melodious sweet innocent love-story...worth a watch .I guarantee you wont be disappointed (but don't expect a MSG..)
yurichar i saw this movie on DVD not long ago, and although i didn't find it completely satisfactory (certain aspects of the story don't seem very convincing among other things), i did find it a very entertaining watch. Mun geun yeong's acting is still not fully mature here, but she certainly did challenge herself in this role (compare to her role in 'a tale of tow sisters) and is quite successful. Kim Rae Won's acting is also highly creditable. It is a very heart-warming comedy that mix and mingles some serious themes with amusing dialogue and narrative quite well. Not the typical tragic love story of Korean movies, and has a happy end. Worth a watch, especially if you are a Korean movie or Mun Geun Yeong fan.
Gigo_Satana While My Sassy Girl still to this day sets extremely high standards in the Korean and non-Korean romantic comedy cesspool, more films go through the lab of sometimes unfair comparisons and unforgiving expectations. Oh, people still enjoy them, no doubt about that, but the "great original" portrait of My Sassy Girl hangs high as a true testament of perfect mix of comedy, romance and melodrama. This film is no different from all the other romantic comedies from Korea, as it makes you yearn for the same feelings that you attained while and after viewing MSG. The story of course is completely different. Sang-min is a college student planning on prospering his carefree dating life and Bo-eun is his 16 year old childhood pal who has a crush on a boy from her school. Next is Bo-eun's grandfather trying his best to get them marry each other against their will. Keep the age difference in mind, which in no way should be viewed as a "gross" endeavor, but merely as a cultural difference. While this movie lacks supernatural enigmas and over the top action, it easily makes up for it with great chemistry between the two leads.Geun-young Moon's performance was especially interesting to note here after her completely different outing in A Tale Of Two Sisters. Rae-won Kim is no rookie to playing such roles and he did a refreshingly good job here as well.Another fine accomplishment in this film is delivered through its length, which stands at almost two hours. It lets the story gradually develop along with its characters, making all transitions and actions feel well paced and believable. If before watching Korean romantic comedies you know each time what exactly you are getting yourself into, then don't hesitate to give this movie a try. Although predictable like the majority of light romantic comedies, it offers good laughs and a rare hand in the character development, making the viewing time effortless and vastly enjoyable without hackneyed emotions and unfit melodrama.
sasamijurai Contains some spoilers. At first this is a light hearted comedy about a very inappropriate situation however as time passes the movie becomes quite inappropriate itself with the older male character trying his best to sleep with this 15 year old girl at every opportunity, even if he later says he is joking - come on. Obviously she is terrified and in one scene for example he undresses in front of her - in order to terrify her, I guess the comedy in that scene was the audience laughing at the poor schoolgirl wanting to run away from her perverted adult husband. The very end is clichéd and I would say it condones underage child-adult relationships - which is ridiculous and depraved. It seems that she finally gives in at the end and stops running away from him. Is that an appropriate theme for a comedy - maybe a dark comedy or a satirical look but this film is not about satire - it's a farce.
