Absolutely brilliant

A Major Disappointment

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

There's been a lot of documentaries lately about Cosplay, many having been clearly filmed and 'constructed' by someone that isn't involved in the community. This film gets right to the heart of what being a Cosplayer really is the diversity of those that engage in this hobby. It's extremely insightful and heart warming as we follow the Cosplayers through a typical convention year and see how they grow. Josh did a fabulous job of letting the community speak for itself instead of forcing unneeded drama and turning it into a popularity contest, it really is just about people. I highly recommend this for anyone curious to know more about this unique hobby.

This is a fascinating introduction to the cosplay universe. The people that are followed seemed willing to be candid, genuine, and unassuming. The two female leads are especially honest and sweet, as they muddle through their relationships, like any young 'un. The directing and editing is superb. The film has a classic documentary feel. There are some surprise elements that are very engaging and endearing. In all, it is the quintessential "coming of age" drama with a cool creative twist. In addition to the main characters, there are many fun costumes and unique people who put in two cents about cosplay. I will watch this over and over to pick up new elements the clever director included.
