During the invasion of Normandy the photograph of a slim Korean man in German uniform was found. It transpired that the man had served as a soldier in the Japanese, Russian and German armies. His incredible story inspired director Kang Je-Gyu to create this epic war drama.

Misteraser Critics,are you kidding us
Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
boydapeters Watch this then watch Brotherhood of War. Exceptional director and film. No review is needed. Save the time reading this and just watch it. Period
C. Caner Telimenli This is a production which shows us the people in pursuit of some ideals who think anything would be suitable to achieve that goal can be terribly misguided in their actions. The movie tells us the real difference between any kind of two people lays only on surface, and the real challenge with virtue is to understand the other person. Its a good movie with a right message even tough it has some mistakes in it.I am not going to say much about factual or continuation errors in the movie, all I can say they are not intolerable. But I can recommend this movie without hesitation to any human. Its a great example what happens when you chose to fight rather than putting aside your differences.
Mihai Rusu I will start with the obvious, the story is about a man who fought for the Imperial Army, Soviet Army and German Army but, except for that, 99% of the things shown, and most likely most of the characters shown, never could have happened or existed in real life. It's also filled with jaw dropping anti-Japanese hate. Especially fake are the military engagements and actions shown: a sniper shooting down a Soviet airplane with a rifle shot(in real life the dedicated AA guns had problems with shooting down those soviet planes), the Japanese army having no forward scouts and always looking like children getting surprised all the time, the Soviet machine-gun tankers riding unprotected with the turret opened when charging into battle(military tactics specifically prohibited such things), Japanese fuel trucks bumping the front of the Soviet tanks(while the Soviet tanks were missing them at almost point blank range), magically exploding and even more magically destroying said soviet tanks, and this sort of stuff is only in the first hour of a 137 min. movie. Who ever gave this movie more than 1 star is very much enjoying hating the Japanese, and/or enjoying being lied to, without thinking how physics or the military work, without informing themselves on the events or without asking themselves if that would really work 'in the real world'. Shameful movie, even more shameful propaganda. I don't enjoy being lied to my face in such manner.
Hunky Stud from the beginning of the film, it is already predictable that the main protagonists will not die. so no matter what he goes through, you already knew the end result. then is it really possible for a female to use a gun to shoot down a warplane? i am not an expert, but it seems too unreal. then it seems that the only solution for her exit is to die. otherwise, her existence will interfere with the progress of the film. It seems like an epic film with quite a few predictable story lines. these kind of things simply don't happen in real life. It didn't make me feel emotional.
