Very disappointed :(

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

this movie has hot babes, and hot action. That's the good part. The bad part is some woeful dialogUE, and an unconvincing lurch into a romance of sorts. Believe me, i have nothing against movies following unpredictable patterns if they work. See the host as a very good example. But here, and I guess because of the bad dialogue particularly in an ice cream trunk sequence. the action sequences are the only things of merit. Thankfully there are enough of them to make watching this movie worthwhile.

No. It's not a "so bad it's good" movie. Yes, this movie has hot chicks with tight butts and pretty faces. Yes, this movie has some good martial arts and gun fighting action. Yes, it has bloody violence that can cause a sexual provocation. Unfortunately, this has to be one of the most exasperating movies I have ever seen. I couldn't finish it. The acting was so horrible, I wished everyone in this movie died. And it's not the kind of acting that is bad in a funny way, either. It is like crying children combined with a chalkboard being scratched perpetually. The story had some good ideas like having a secret place that kidnaps 13 years old girls and training them to be killers and **** but the execution results in stupid friendship, lousy dramatization and horrible characterization. On a positive note, you get to see Suzy Q do the splits and you get to see her PERFECT BUTT! And the action...... you know what? Kiss my fat ***! This movie sucks. In conclusion: I wouldn't recommend this movie. That is all.

So the girls are quizzed on the vintage of their wines, & of course all get the answers correct... except nobody identified the POISON contained therein ? This was my 1st 'action movie' from HK & I come away feeling pretty good.Along the way, you could see the differences between this and someone making it say, in the U.S With deaths of main characters along the way, that might not have been filmed. The 'puppet scene' I found a little disturbing, but I guess being my 1st I didn't know just what to expect. I will watch again. The idea of a collective of very young children stolen & trained for future assassination jobs is a nice idea, but again worrying :)

Early 2000's were difficult times for Hong Kong cinema. Eventually, it emerges strong with old male greats pulling the industry up by the bootstrap. You can see this in the likes of SPL, Infernal Affairs, and the likes. Female stars of the '80s and the '90s didn't fare so well, and practically none survived into the 21st century (maybe except Lau Ka Lin). So the search was to find fresh new faces that can carry the lead female role. This movie stars Maggie Q who puts in the darker Gen-X style acting into the action.Wong Jin's style of entertainment is evident in this movie. It's got his usual expensive look and feel to the production, and selection of beautiful female actors. The story is bit like Battle Royale that was a hit in Japan around the same time. Bunch of young kids are forced to kill each other for the right to survive as the perfect assassin. It's a cleverly put together movie, that has action, and little bit of skin exposure but maintains good taste. I have no idea why the rating is so low here on this movie. It's a nice action movie that's entertaining to watch.
