Tockinit not horrible nor great
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Delight Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
silvan-desouza In 70s and 80s several films were made on lost and found theme NASTIK which released in 1983 is another of those. The film also focuses on a religious theme, wherein the hero is an atheist due to injustice done to him in childhood The movie suddenly changes gears to a light thief based movie where Amitabh, Pran and Hema con people and there is no sight of that angle for half the movie till Amitabh spots his mother he thought she was deadRest of the film follows the typical mundane twists till the predictable endThe film has several unbelievable stunts like Amitabh jumping from ground floor to top floor and also shooting though tied upside down.etc Also there is overdose of songs and actionDirection by pramod Chakravarthy is decent Music by Kalyanji Anandji is good especially Aaj ka yeh din(kishore) and Pyaare tere pyar mein(Amit Kumar, Asha)Amongst actors Amitabh does his routine act but does it well, surprisingly in the same year he starred in PUKAR where he was against the krantikaris here he is against God, sort of similar thing but yet he does it very well as usual though the film released during his bad days just after his accident and his spate of not too successful films in 1983 he began to put on weight too Hema Malini(last film with Bachchan till baghban) looks thinner then Naseeb and does well for her role Pran plays the similar Zanjeer type chor act who has a heart of gold and does well Amjad Khan too is as usual the villain but does well though looks too fat this perhaps is Amit-Amjad's last film together Amongst rest the actress playing Amitabh's mother is terrible rest are okay Deven Verma and Madan Puri are funny
TC-Batsy Nastik is good film to watch but it's a repetition of most of Amitabh's performances where he is always the angry man whose family gets murdered in his early childhood, and later seek revenge once he finds the killer and sometimes reunites with his loved ones when we assume they're still dead! Nevertheless, I enjoy Amitabh's wonderful acting because his appeal is simply unique whether it's drama, action or comedy. As for Nastik, it talks about Shankar's journey as an atheist when he renounces his faith in the gods after the horrible deaths of his family by the evil slumlord Tiger. Blirin and Gori were the perfect companions for Shankar as they earn their living through stealing from the rich until they encounter Tiger and discover his heinous crimes against innocents so they fight him.
nmadhuk3 Okay.If you are about to watch the movie you must be a Hindi movie buff or a Big B fan!In which case you can afford to watch it.All the others stay off it.Big B does a few tricks in this movie that even Rajni Kant can learn from.Like how to propel oneself from the ground to the first floor with just a slight jerk of your shoulders and a ludicrous background squeal, and how to shoot goons while you are hung upside down. :-)! Hema Malini and Pran have seen better ages but still both of them are there. If you know all this and still don't mind watching the movie, then it is fun.I knew it.I enjoyed it.But be warned!
hammer_pants Great movie, great acting, great songs. Amitabh is amazing as usual in his role as Shankar. Amjad Khan gives a fantastic performance as well as the villain Tiger. Pran is also great in his role as Amitabh's friend and a father in pain. The storyline is that of revenge (in an indian movie, nooo!). Amitabh plays the "Nastik", a man who shuns his religion because his faith could not save a loved one. Hema Malini also stars as the heroine. I give this movie an 8 out of 10.
