Gutsycurene
Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

This film is based on the character of Charlie, a "student" ("for studying I´m too old.") living in Munich, prefering to lie in bed and watch the test-programme instead of doing anything else, which would include "much too much action". His precioust possesions are an article about heart attacks - he tries to give up smoking - and his "writer-jacket". The film starts as his girl-friend throws him out of her flat, cause he didn´t try to get a job. (He spent the whole morning watching people going to work and got nausea.) He shuffles to his mate Henry´s appartment ("Out again"-"Come in"), where he tries to relax. This doesn´t work, because his mate takes him with him to the Bavaria studios to make some money as super-numeraries, but Charlies ideas of using a subjectiv camera and only film him from the left, cause he considers this one to be his better side, lead to another throw-out. And to the historical comment from Charly to the porter " Go and get a spade - somewhere in this area the German film must be buried!" The other action Charly gets involved in is the arson at a department store (precisly the toilet of it as the "twice potentielled exponent of nowerdays consum-society")planned by the revolutionary friends of Henry and only executibal by Charly, who is the only one who manages to get locked in the building. But he isn´t really interested and uses the location for a date with the rich man´s daughter he got known to that afternoon, to have some fun with her at the camping-section. It all ends after some kind of car chase with the police ("Two driving-lessons are in fact too little")with Charly walking out of the scene, smoking a cigarette, commenting "You don´t even manage to quit smoking."
