Just so...so bad

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Laughing in the Face of the Critics, This Very Light-Hearted Family Comedy Managed to Come In as the Second Highest Grossing Film of the Year and Spawned Two Sequels So Far.Ben Stiller is the Catalyst to All of the Museum Mayhem and He Does Yeoman Work Helped Along by a Well Known Supporting Cast Featuring Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Ricky Gervais. Small Parts Go to Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney. The Highlights of the Movie are Really the Clever Coming to Life Displays (only at night) of the Many and Varied Historical Representations. It's Mostly Dumbed Down and Slapstick is the Flavor of the Day. Hardly an Inspiration for Inspiring Young Eggheads or Curious Children in General. But, the "Come-On" Seemed to Have Worked. The Real Museum in NYC Found its Attendance Up 20% During its Run. Mostly Going for Cheap Laughs the Movie is Shallow Stuff Considering the Educational Template. However, it Can Be a Fun Time for Families and is One of Those that is Entertaining Enough and Could Easily Be Given a Pass for its Brainless Script. Good Enough to Recommend and its PG Rating is Rare for Non-Animated Movies These Days.

This movie is a movie to see in family. Your children will sure love it and if you still have your child soul, you will certainly like it as well.Ben Stiller is really hilarious as a night guard in a museum which suddenly comes alive every night because of a magical Egyptian tablet. He is also touching when he has scenes with his son trying to convince him and himself that everything will be alright. The rest of the cast is also brilliant and actually really funny, the Late Robin Williams in particular as Teddy Roosevelt, the 24th President of the United States, which brings his genius acting to the movie and gives it memorable times. The Museum Director is also hilarious as trying to give a picture as a big boss but who doesn't have a clue of what's going on in his own museum. Owen Wilson as Jeb and Steve Coogan as Octavius are also very funny because of their very small height but their huge ego. Yes this movie is definitely a good way to enjoy family time and have a serious laugh.

A Night At The Museum stars Ben Stiller, Carla Gugino, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Bill Cobbs, Jake Cherry, Ricky Gervais, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, and Robin Williams with varying screen time and success. Plot In A Paragraph: Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is divorced, unable to keep a stable job, and has failed at his many business ventures. His ex-wife (Kim Raver) believes that he is a bad example to their ten-year-old son Nicky (Jake Cherry), and Larry fears that Nick respects his future stepfather, bond trader Don (Paul Rudd), more than him. He gets a job as a night watchman at New York City's American Museum of Natural History and subsequently discovers that the exhibits, animated by a magical Egyptian artifact, come to life at night.Stiller does his usual Ben Stiller routine. Owen Wilson is basically his character from "Shanghai Noon" simply replacing Jackie Chan with Steve Coogan. Ricky Gervais is incredibly annoying as he over acts. However Robin Williams steals the show as Theodore Roosevelt.Carla Gugino is awfully under used!! Not quite a love interest, but someone we should care about being upset, without really knowing her. A total waste of her considerable talents. Likewise Paul Rudd, who is neither the evil step father, nor the dastardly new husband of the main characters ex wife. Instead he turns up once looking like a douche, and once more looking like a good guy. A total waste. Both characters should have been expanded or wrote out!! Speaking of being wrote out. The kid could have been wrote out too!! A pointless character, except to give Stiller's character a reason to get a "real job" I did enjoy eating this movie with my 9 year old son. If he wants to watch it again I will not mind, as it was an easy 90 minutes or so.

Take your brain out and set it aside. This movie is a good example of simplistic fun for the family and kids, nothing more. The dialog is really simple and the acting is there as a good support for a weak story which has plenty of plot mistakes. It is worth the time to rent but I can't find it in me to want to own the DVD or download the movie. It just isn't over the top which they should have done with this movie. I mean, they could have taken it to another level of quality. The actors all do their parts and the CGI is very acceptable.I recommend at least watching this once.
