As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

I'll be brief... This Halloween movie has it all. Stereotypes (the virginal female lead, the frustrated boyfriend, the cool kid, the fat guy, the black guy, the goth girl, the slutty girl, the nerd) - all here; party at a spooky location (abandoned funeral parlour on the outskirts of town, the scene of a horrific multiple murder years ago) - check; John Carpenter-style synth score - definitely; dodgy acting - and how! Honestly, an hour and a half of marvellous 80's Halloween teen horror. Put your brain in neutral and just go along for the ride! Easily an 8/10

I am a connoisseur of bad horror movies from the 1980s, but this one is sadly lacking even by those standards. The dreary dialogue, made worse by appalling acting, with everyone grimacing and grinding out their lines by rote like automatons, were simply too much to bear. These performances are of the quality you might find in a high school drama production. Even worse, it lacked action, ignoring an unwritten rule for this sort of film: there simply must be a killing, maiming or supernatural occurrence during the first ten minutes. That doesn't happen here. The early scares are limited to silliness such as someone's little brother popping out of a closet shouting "Boo!" If you're 12 years old and willing to watch almost anything on TV while babysitting for your next door neighbors, you might find this acceptable. As for me, I tried to watch it but had to turn it off after 10 minutes. It was so stupid I couldn't stand any more.

Fantastic graphics at the beginning. Really got me in the mood to become frightened. Making the evil dead concept into perfection. Emotional roller-coaster. Cast - wow! Quentin Tarantino must have been involved in the dialogue writing. "Eat a bowl of f***! I am here to party!" Brilliant! Haha, so playful, and comedic too. The characters were very believable. I got really attached to the character Stooge. His death had me in tears. The sound technician made a great job. One time a door closed and the music stopped. So dramatic! The soundtrack is still up to date. I listen to it when I go to work. Perfect cure for the case of the mondays. Nice with the acoustic sound. Better than the modern CGB (computer generated baloney). I wish someone would have showed me this movie during the most difficult times of my life. The ending was bittersweet, sweet because i learnt about morals and bitter because it was over.

Most notable for its misuse of a tube of lipstick, Night of the Demons is classic 80s B horror material. It's director Kevin Tenney's most polished film and he shows some nice visual flair and manic energy, before his career sadly hit the skids with direct to video junk. Night of the Demons sputters a bit in the character department, as we're dealing with purely archetypal characters in these types of movies, but there's much entertainment in watching these one dimensional dim bulbs meet a horrible demise - or run amok as a demon. Tenney also makes the most of his low budget and majority of the film taking place in one location, with stellar makeup effects and a wonderful bathed in horror atmosphere aided by some better than expected cinematography. Night of the Demons has a nice sense of humor throughout and it's one of the better 80s genre entries.
