An absolute waste of money

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

This was certainly to be one of the most sought after sequels after the success of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, but it doesn't meet the expectations and falls well behind the standards set by Part 1! Akshay Kumar simply does not look the part as Sohaib (Dawood) and does not match up to Ajay Devgan or Emraan Hashmi in Part 1. Ajay had stature, dialogues and power without even lifting a finger and Akshay fails to come close to that performance. I understand Ekta Kapoor was looking for an older version of Sohaib, but even Emraan Hashmi would have done a better job of pulling that role off. Another good option could have been Arjun Rampal. The performances which stand out are Imraan Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. I've never been a fan of Imran, but he puts his a very honest and sincere performance and this has to go down as his best performance to date. Sonakhsi is cute and delivers some funny dialogues and builds a lovely chemistry with Imraan. The music is a plus point, and obviously did well, especially Yeh Tune Kya Kiya, but it doesn't do enough to carry a film. Overall a disappointing effort in what could of been an absolutely fantastic film. At the end, I honestly did miss Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi!

One of the worst movies that I watched recently. Worst acting, worst directions and only bearable music. Story/plot is very ordinary. Imran Khan and Akshay Kumar looked very ordinary. Ms. Sinha was not impressive at all. Music is very ordinary; Choreography is not up to par. I wish they had better cast and a better plot.Actually the whole cast of the movie is below average. It is a crappy movie.I would never recommend anyone to watch this. A complete waste of time.

ONCE UPON AY TIME IN MUMBAI DOBARA, DOBARA KOI NAI DEKHEGA. I feel sad when good directors, actors, technical staff waste too much money on a big movie and result is this bad. DHOOM and HERAPHERI are the only decent sequels in Hindi in terms of quality. First movie was decent led by AJAY DEVGN and IMRAN. But this is total disaster, biggest problem is in what is this movie about? Is it gangster drama? Or gangster in love? Mentor vs young gangster? Usually I don't like to write a review movies which I found not worth talking but this movie had attention for a different reason. I noticed this pattern in EKTA KAPOOR movies since OUATIMD; they have given too much importance to dialogues. You can clearly see in this movie that classy cheap dialogues have been placed unnecessarily. In first OUATIMD it worked because it had simple story and good actors. This movie lacks story. Acting wise,AKSHAY KUMAR has done good job portraying role of gangster but lack of character depth makes it look funny. IMRAN KHAN has to take tips from JOHN ABRAHAM to choose roles which suit him. He just does not look like a ch awl vala ladka. SONAKSHI SINHA, WHY DO EVEN DIRECTORS BOTHER? Terrible acting, terrible character, and she does not even look pretty in terms of innocent girl kind role. Other actors are wasted due to bad writing.Music of prequel of this one was superb but this one is disappointing. Ye tune kya kia is good but not superb.

The movie being the sequel of a popular crime film 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai' was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. But, the movie is nowhere near to its prequel in comparison. One of the drawbacks is the story as the tag line suggests 'This time it's personal.' The love story is the first priority which was not the same in the first installment.Another possible reason is the cast of the movie. Akshay Kumar may be a very popular actor but according to me, he didn't get it right this time around whereas Emraan Hashmi playing the same character of Shoaib Khan in the first installment of the movie was much more natural. The first part had fewer dialogues and were appropriate. This time, there are just too many of them which is not so impressing. However, the music is quite commendable. The songs are worth listening but are played in the movie when not really required. In other words, I would say that the movie wasn't up to the mark and didn't stand up to people's expectations.
