Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
ken-stevens-1 I viewed on a 1080i Hi-Def channel, and was very impressed with the film. It expressed a very compelling and emotional POV, and this is coming from someone who is not a pilot and never had a desire to be one. The imagery and message was compelling nonetheless and I can understand the passion the filmmaker must have had for this subject. The film told a very unique story, which all messaging should do. But it was accomplished with such great detail and humanity, that it left a great impression with me. If you or anyone you know has an affection for general aviation, please make sure they see this. It not only establishes a history of flying but makes a great case for the value of local airports. I'm so grateful that people with this level of passion and talent get to tell stories like this and that I get to see and hear them.
jpd1-1 Brian -- Thank you for this major contribution to general aviation. I'll never forget my instructor saying "You are going to land on 16 Right - right?" when I was lined up for 16 Left the first time I ever flew into VNY.I got my wings at 18, and memories of VNY are too numerable to mention. We used to hang out at the 94th on Sunday evenings, watch the sunset, and hope to see an aircraft we'd never seen before. That after a hop to Catalina and back.Your brilliant film moved me to tears.I cannot imagine VNY closing, it would be a major blow -- but we'll always have One Six Right. With appreciation and gratitude,J.D.
Jeff-W-W As a pilot, and one who has also flown to Van Nuys many times, I can say that this really hits home. I would write 10,000 words to convey my admiration and love of this film, but I would still not be able to even begin to scratch the surface. There so many wonderful things about this movie! The filming in HD is the visual element, but there is a human element too. Along with those two things comes the soundtrack which is so touching. If you buy or rent this film, make sure you play "Flight" in the Special Features. If you don't have either goose bumps or tears after watching that, then you must be dead.An aviator's film of all time has arrived, and it is called - One-Six Right.
Steve Fremgen I have now been flying for 44 years; I was the kid sitting at the local flying field, trolling for rides when I was young. That love of flight has always been part of my being, but something that was very difficult to tell others exactly how I felt when I went aloft. From the classic Cub to the heavy iron of sophisticated airplanes, the thrill of flight is always there. One of my favorite airliners was always the DC-3, its sleek lines always beckoned me to the cockpit. Today, I revel in the scents of an airplane exhaust and the freshly-mown grass fields where airplanes truly belong. NOW, I can show this video to others and they can feel the love of flight, something that pilots everywhere can share. Thanks for making this video; we need more like this one.
