I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

I really tried to like this as I devour anything vaguely science related. Unfortunately this falls a little flat; and honestly I couldn't even finish it. Mainly it's the narration but as has been said the content, writing, pacing and graphics are sub-par as well. That voice was the antithesis of David Attenborough (who could make anything sound interesting). Was Neil deGrasse Tyson not available? This COULD have been a much better presentation, but as it stands it's mediocre at best. Pick up Cosmos a Spacetime Odyssey with Neil deGrasse Tyson to see the difference. I had believed I was fairly educated until I watched that. Did you know that photons that are created in the center of the sun take 35,000 years to bounce their way to surface (and then obviously 8 minutes 20 seconds to travel from the sun to the earth).

Right from the start of "Our universe" I knew it was going to be bad.The speed edited voice over spoken in a monotonous weird droning tone had my spider sense tingling. Something wasn't right here. 15 minutes in I wanted to hit stop & eject. No information regarding the UNIVERSE instead I was being treated to Our Solar System for 11 year olds! Once I'd figured out I been conned by the misleading Our Universe title & my anger had subsided enough I continued to watch hoping to gleam some new insights into our Solar System. I watched to the end.... I was crushed."Our Universe" is Bland, unengaging, boring, uninteresting, average graphics, no real new information, poorly presented at times confusing documentary destined for the bin.Do yourself a huge favour & watch any or all of the documentaries below instead.Nova - Fabric of the Cosmos, Stephen Hawking - Grand Design, BBC - Wonders of the Universe, BBC - Seven Ages of Starlight, Science - Through the Wormhole, National Graphic - Inside The Milky Way, National Graphic - Journey To The Edge of the Universe, IMAX - Hubble, IMAX - Cosmic Voyage

Having read the first review I thought this was worth viewing however after I got it I was really disappointed.I think this is aimed at people with learning difficulties or something as the voice of the narration was very slow, like they were trying to explain basic things to a complete idiot, as though no one could understand what was being said unless you talk really slowly. Watching this as an educated person I felt slightly insulted, the concepts explained are not complex and I was left with a feeling that I had somehow just been treated as a child. Unless you missed school from the age of 11 and were also held back a couple of years, I wouldn't bother wasting your money on this.

A must have! I bought this hoping it would be great and I was not disappointed! The visuals are outstanding and really help tell the story through the narrator, plus if you are fortunate enough to own a 3D TV then it really does make it a must watch as soon as you can! The overall content is amazing! Its entertaining, interesting and what really sold it to me was it was accurate. A lot of similar products have had poor research behind them but from having a keen interest and studying aerospace at degree it is great knowing they have put so much time into making this. It is explained so clearly as well that allows it to be watched by anyone, especially those interested in space, physics, astronomy or those who love seeing 3D blu-rays!The cosmos is a fantastic and extraordinary place that is shown off to all of its glory on this disc! With Christmas coming around I strongly recommend this for any friends or family!
