Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
SnoopyStyle Isabelle James (Noomi Rapace) has been working under Christine Stanford (Rachel McAdams) at an advertising firm for the last eight months. Christine steals credit for Isabelle's highly successful work. Isabelle is dating Christine's ex Dirk Harriman. Christine seems to take Isabelle under her wings and even making passes at her. Dirk had been stealing company money with Christine but she throws him under the bus. Dirk breaks up with Isabelle. Isabelle releases her ad herself and it goes viral. Isabelle gets the recognition and Christine's promotion evaporates. Christine starts to work on destroying Isabelle and threatening Isabelle's assistant Dani. Then someone kills Christine. This is undoubtedly a Brian De Palma film. It is overwrought with plenty of his cinematic touches. He's pushing all of his familiar buttons. Rachel McAdams is basically an older version of Regina George. She is quite an expert on that type of role. Noomi Rapace is around the same age as McAdams. She has good acting range but this character may be better served with a younger and more naive actress. Isabelle needs to be a wide-eyed innocent before the twists. Overall, this is pulpy and unreal. I don't get the ballet sequence. De Palma may have pushed too hard on this one.
gslimemo53 It's a nice repeat shot. Inspectors or filmmakers will see that this is a slightly altered repetition of an old Filmin. Of course, not as impressive as the original, but a new character joined the director. If I had been watching for the first time, I'm sure I was more impressed, but that's the job again. I can say it's worth watching. The final part is good, although there are not too many corner points. The shooting style and the procession are also beautiful. A tight tension. I would definitely recommend watching the kind fans.GUIDANCE OF THE DIRECTOR: Director Brian De Palma did a good job. It was a return film after a long ride. But I think it's a low quality film compared to its quality. But ultimately De Palma is a good cook. Eat what you cook.
freemanist Oh dear..... Within 60 seconds of watching I drew the clear conclusion that my time was better spent elsewhere. I am totally puzzled as to what BdeP was looking to achieve; I expected the first scene to close with a TV set being turned off, immediately followed by properly scripted actors mocking the car crash/comedy/amateur hour they had been watching. In dismissing the limp interplay between 2 women and a token boyfriend, the proper cast would then make way for the movie to start in earnest.Amazingly, that first scene set the tone for what was to follow - poor acting, terrible scripting, disjointed pace, lack of narrative, absence of character development, weak storytelling and a general mishmash of locations and scenes that left me thinking this laughable excuse for a movie was nothing more than a Director's self indulgence. At the premiere I can only imagine that a severe case of the emperors new clothes had kicked in whereby no-one dare exhale their sharp intakes of breath in order to share their complete unease and disbelief of what was before their eyes. The central premise is a lesbian laced joust between 2 hollow, privileged females, masquerading as a business power-play carried out in an artificial Berlin society which comes across as completely meaningless. Thus develops a plunge into unfaithfulness, murder and a totally predictable ending. The man who gave us Carrie and Carlito's Way is way off beam here, the $20m budget is a gigantic price for a complete stinker.
Irishchatter Why the heck did they waste money on this horrible movie?! Yeah sure, it's added in a lot of sex scene's and thriller action but that's not enough to make a proper movie! I really thought it was gonna be good because I do like crime drama with romance films but, this is definitely a let down! The background such as the house, looks so much like it's meant to be for a cleaning advertisement, not for a thriller crime movie. The actors looked like they weren't confident enough to be involved in the film! I say, they all hated just being in this crappy film.I can't talk anymore, this movie is terrible!
