Details

Mild-mannered Paul Blart has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day.

2freensel I saw this movie before reading any reviews, and I thought it was very funny. I was very surprised to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews this film received from critics.
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
llVIU If you ever need ideas on finding unfunny jokes or cringy moments, just pick this movie.Oh, by the way, it also includes nonsense about how it's legal to harass people, stalk them, not do your job and somehow not get fired, and other things.Sorry but I couldn't get past half an hour. I couldn't get over the fact that an attractive woman was interested in a complete and utter loser. Dragons, aliens, sure, whatever, I can accept magic wizzards, but any fictional story has its limits. A 10/10 girl will never date a 1/10 manchild.
benjaminweber Paul Blart: Mall Cop is a wonderful and funny film. Paul Blart is a very relatable protagonist, who loves his family and strives to achieve his dreams, despite being constantly let down by his hypoglycaemia, a moving metaphor for the hurdles we all face in life that can seem insurmountable. The plot itself is fairly solid, with constants twists and beautiful comic timing. We see a squad of villains who are both professional and quirky, which makes for a perfect pairing with the professional and quirky Paul Blart, as well as helping to establish a visual feel for the world of Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Add to this a great performance from the cast and you have a nearly perfect movie, and while there may be mistakes, the pacing and soundtrack will immerse you to the point where you barely notice. 10/10
studioAT Take a likable comic actor hot off the back of a long running TV sitcom and dump him in a film that isn't half as funny as it likes to think it is. Ladies and gentlemen- 'Paul Bart'.The crying shame here is that Kevin James, much like Ray Romano before him, is a likable, funny guy, who deserves to make the leap to the big screen. It's just a case of choosing the right films to take that leap in. 'Ice Age' aside, Romano hasn't made it, Kevin James in contrast has, but not in any films that earn him the credit he deserves. There's some decent slapstick here, some nice verbal bits, but it all feels like a sketch show about a bad mall cop rather than a film.As I said, it's a shame, I like Kevin James. I just think I'll stick to seeing him in 'King of Queens' reruns instead.
kevcoop7 I'm not one of those critics who blast movies out of proportion and out of context. This movie is a movie in which I can have a good laugh at how cheesy, stupid, and bad this movie is. For this review, I will be talking mainly about the acting, characters, and the comedy. 1) The characters- For one, the characters aren't all that bad. The character of Paul Blart to me if a lovable, goofy, and funny character who should be a sympathetic character. HIs daughter, on the other hand, is just plain annoying in this movie. This character got on my nerves, but that's just what the actress worked with. The love interest is also kind of an airhead and the romantic subplot is think is just shoehorned in this movie.2) The Acting- The Acting was okay for the most part. The guy who plays the new guy, Vec Simms, he does well as well as the main star, Kevin James. Kevin James is a funny and goofy comedian who can make me laugh no matter what he's in. 3) The comedy- To be honest, the comedy in this movie is a little bit lame, but still, it makes me laugh at loud in several places, and when it does work, it works well. All in all, I consider this movie a guilty pleasure movie, and when I want some mindless comedy, Ill watch this.
