I could not help giving this movie a 10/10. As a mother with a son with autism this movie gave me so much hope for the future not only for my son yet for my niece who also has autism. It's about time that Autism is brought to light to the mainstream public since most don't understand it or don't even know about it.
Dakota Fanning nailed the part of Wendy & her autism. The not making eye contact, looking at pictures of people to put faces to moods. I went through that with my son yet at a much younger age (he's 23 now & still struggles). Not only watching Wendy have a job gives me hope for my son & niece since neither of them are as high in the autism spectrum as the character Wendy.
Every autistic child/adult normally has (at least) one thing that they are exceptionally good at. In fact autistic children will score genius on I.Q. tests. While Wendy's is Star Trek & writing, my so excells with computers & also with computer games, & my niece is already a prodigy when it comes to graphic novel art, & drawing characters on a computer at the age of 12. Her Dad just graduated in the field of graphic design for computer games so he gave her all of his school equipment that he used & she's almost surpassed him without any education instruction.
This movie shows an array of not just the difficulties with living with autism yet how far some might be willing to go out of their comfort zone to achieve their dream.

Dear readers, Dakota Fanning is awesome and she must be gained many awards this year for this movie. I am straightforward to say this because this Please Stand By movie has powerful message for autism, great plots, warm, and lovely movie this summer. The main story of the movie is about a teenage autism girl who wants to reach her goal to send manuscript for writing competition about Star Trek Ending in Paramount Pictures, Los Angeles. By the time she found out that she has many problems, she still keeps forward and forward, no matter how. This is the best part of this movie, because it teaches us how to use all of our means to reach our goal and there is no excuse to reach such a dream, even for people with autism. The plots created in this movie are also straight, there is no twist, as I really do not like twist movie. This is why this movie has a clear ending and the message still kept warm in our heart while we already seen the credit list at the end. We must appreciate the Director who combined the pop culture with fundamental ideas of being an American in the modern era. The location and setting for this filming is basically really American, with the view of Los Angeles downtown, streets, building, and people. This movie somehow delivers us the American culture of how to becoming individualist person, but also together in very urgent time. Above all, there is family value that can not be bargained with anything. The Director is successful to send this powerful message for us, including the autism center management, police service, part time working situation, hospital guardians, and bus drivers role, they are not just there in the scene without purpose. They have been set support the main message of this movie and making this movie so natural and loveable. I love this movie.
