Reviews

Tacticalin An absolute waste of money
Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
justinforcier This film does a good job of showing hope in dark times.The first scene of the film is of an older man walking over to a door with a box in his hand. We jump back to 1943 in Nazi Germany when the man was a boy. He discovers a little Jewish girl hiding in a closet, holding a porcelain unicorn.The film makes good usage of going back and forth in time periods and does really well in crafting a story with only limited words and phrase the creators could use. The story was heartwarming and made me quite happy in the end despite the very dark setting and time period. I would definitely recommend this film.
supamu What is that? It's a unicorn. Never seen one up close before. Beautiful. Get away. Get away. I'm sorry.In this movie, only these six sentences are used. We first realize this scene was about 1940's by the scene that focuses on the mark "star of David" on her clothes. It's a symbol of Jewish nation. Men whose appearance is scary are maybe the Nazis. In the third line, the period backgrounds were expressed. The boys who seem to find something were maybe working under them. One of the boys looked at the mark and said to her "Never seen one up close before." The time of Jew-baiting, he saw the mark so close and longer for the first time. I think then he realized the beauty of the believing what she thinks is right, that it is beautiful. So, when the unicorn is broken by a man, he must feel empty. How else would he send her a unicorn when he got old? Unicorn is their bridge. It saved both of them. If their destiny had been over at that time, I would have felt inconsolable grief.
samboran It is so awesome that only six lines can stretch the story so far. This storie is about a German boy and a Jewish girl during the world war. He saves her from Nazi soldiers but he cares that her small porcelain unicorn was broken. So he went to see her again to give her the new one for the first time in about six or seven decades.It was a very impressive scene that the girl said "beautiful" looking at the symbol of Jewish. And the boy also seemed to have no prejudice toward that.I thought the story was heartwarming and unique to Germany.
Mokka-mocha45 When I watched this film, I thought a setting of this film was interesting first. In flashback, I found this setting was concerned with the Nazus from Germany and Star of David. I have learned the Jewish people were forced to put it on their clothes, so I understood a little girl is a Jewish person. She said "Beautiful" with her Star of David showing. I think she takes pride in her race and nationality. I don't know whether this story in nonfiction, but it is the truth that people who were proud of being the Jewish people such as the little girl were persecuted, so this film is short but I think it taught us the important thing we must nit forget. This film's title, "Porcelain Unicorn" fills the important role in this film. I think this beautiful porcelain unicorn show the Jewish people. The little girl treasured it. The German boy also cherished it, so I think he was not going to hurt the Jewish people. However a German soldier crushed it, after that it was mended by the old man who was the German boy, so I also suppose this porcelain unicorn shows "peace."
